Postby tony meas on Wed Feb 04, 2009 1:31 am

hey guys,
i was just wondering what you guys did when you feel like you were losing heart within the business when you start feeling like its to hard or no ones really there to help you. I'm starting to go into that dwell time and i don't want to be there. So any suggestions would be gladly appreciated

Removing That Overwhelmed Feeling

Postby Michelle Eccleshall on Sun Feb 22, 2009 3:31 pm

Hi Koukiaddiction! I think I know where you're coming from, it can be hard when you are struggling and not sure where to turn. For me the biggest thing was (and often still is) the sheer amount of stuff I feel I need to learn and/or do. Where do I start? What is important? Who should I listen to? What the heck does this mean? etc etc. My suggestion is (and I know it sounds a bit strange) Do Something!

Let me explain:
Sometimes I find myself very 'busy' but not actually achieving anything, at the end of the day I am tired and feel I have been working hard, but have not created more leads or sold more products or made more money! So the best thing to do to get out of that slump is pick a goal (a small one is good), preferably an action or production goal that makes you money (not a management goal that makes your office look tidy) break it down into tiny tiny pieces and as you achieve each piece cross it off with a big black pen, stand up, do a big stretch and do a crazy little success dance (you can't help but smile!). Then sit back down and do the next piece.

For me, taking action is the best remedy when you're feeling overwhelmed or underappreciated, and Better Networker is the best place to be if you want help with Anything!!

Best of Luck and let us know how you're getting on!

hi Michelle,
thank you for replying to my post and your words made so much sense i did feel like i "worked" a lot but in the end i didn't really do anything now i have started to take things one step at a time and little by little im starting to see results!. Although its the the big money right now i know that if i keep pushing it one day that success will come into my hands. Thank you again for your advice.

Also may i ask what were your most common problems when you were first starting?

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling a little down, but it will soon pass. With all the negativity out there in the world it is to be expected that some days will not be as good as others. No one is immune to all the bad news that is so prevalent in the world today.

Being on a winning team is an antidote to the blues, when one or two people are feeling down there is others to gain a bit of strength or solace from. Common goals, vision, support etc can be the spark to pull you out of a slump. I know that for me if I start to get down I try to get the gratitude attitude going and this powerful emotion help me feel better about my situation. We have so much to be thankful for even though it is a battle for a lot of people during these difficult times. It was only a year ago that all was going well in the world, what a quick turn-a-round. The years of plenty are over and now we find ourselves in lean times. A time of introspection that will benefit us all as we change our focus.

KEEP IT GOING
