Inspired to 'introduce' myself on these forums.... But didn't resonate with the massive, everything-goes-here thread... So I came to our corner!
Send Out Cards, Network Marketing and residual income have truly changed my life. My wife Melanie and I currently live on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and we love the freedom of lifestyle that the internet and network marketing offer.
I hope to learn, share, laugh and celebrate with you on these forums, and hopefully get to shake hands with you at a TER or Convention in Vegas!

Hi there! I'm just a retail customer but am starting to rethink joining. I just don't want to blatantly market *the business* but instead, the features, usefulness and complete convenience of the service to the local community!

Hi Denise,
It's very easy to market the service to the business community. Most of my customers and some of my distributors have come from networking through organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and BNI. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I am happy to help if I can.

Great, Dawn! Thank you! I had my Dr. in mind because he seriously needs to *connect* personally with his patients! He's a great guy and all...but I think a few well placed (sent) cards to patients could go a long way in making his business sparkle!
I would also like to do a local greet and teach forum on the benefits of card sending for both personal and business building. I think it would be a hit (especially w/businesses) who want to really outshine their competition! I'd just have to make sure...their competition are scheduled on different days!

Those are great ideas, Denise. There are others in SendOutCards who are doing similar things (business seminars, etc.) - you will have plenty of support. Sounds like it's time to upgrade your account!

Re: New To Better Networker.... Few Years With SOC
Hi Dawn and thanks! The biggest...and only *problem* I have with having great ideas before joining a biz op is...it's not 'til after you've signed on the dotted line--that you find out, it's against company policy and you can't do them.
Trust me...I've been down this thorny road one, too many times, before! Ugh! Companies and their tight, freaking marketing gag orders!
What irritates me most is, reps who don't want to talk about the potential downsides (only want to sell you on the *lollipops & gum drops, ooey-gooey goodness) only to sign you up...and then leave you hanging to sort it all out.
I have been all over the web trying to find other reps and ask them about SOC marketing...but there are none to be found. I don't see anyone talking about how they actually market the business. Only *generic* company pitches.
Like, can you have a local news spot done on your business? If so, you must leave SOC's name out of it? Does your business name (in any form--free email accts included)--must not contain Send Out Cards name or likeness in it?
Where can you NOT post about Send Out Cards on or offline?
I'm definitely going to do my *due* dilligence on S.O.C's *Do's & Don'ts* marketing policies before shelling out over $500!!
Signed,
A realist. (lol)

I understand your concerns, Denise. A good place to start is with the Policies and Procedures which you can find from your website (Help -> Site Map -> Policies and Procedures).
Regarding your specific question about having a local news spot, I am fairly certain you can do this...you just need to work with SOC on the compliance issues. I don't think you have to avoid saying "SendOutCards", but they likely will review the questions and answers. You definitely need to confirm this with Corporate, but I do remember someone talking about this who actually had a spot done on their business.
Don't let the compliance issues scare you away. Many of us our growing strong businesses even with the compliance issues that apply to all of us. Most of the restrictions are regarding the internet - and if you are doing local networking that will be less of any issue for you anyway.
I'm sure you have discussed this with your sponsor already, but if you want someone else to bounce ideas off of...just let me know. I am happy to talk over the phone with you sometime.

Q: What happens if one of your *retail* sales wants to join as an entrepreneur and sell SOC's but not with you? Can they join under someone else?

Re: New To Better Networker.... Few Years With SOC
You are not required to sign up as a distributor with that person, but if you move to another person you will lose the money you paid for your retail account. For example, if you paid $99 or $199 for a retail package, you will only pay the difference to upgrade through your current sponsor. With a new sponsor, you will have to pay the entire cost.
The company philosophy (as with most direct sales/MLM companies) is that they encourage you to upgrade with your current sponsor...but it is not required.
