What is a better lead generator?

Postby Seth D on Tue Jul 15, 2008 11:45 pm

Hey MS Community...

What do you think will be a better "Lead Generator":

1) A "review site" offering honest reviews of business opportunites &
product recommendations or

2)a site that offers a free "how to" report & teleseminar series

The reason I'm asking is I have BOTH sites right now,
but would like to focus my energy in one area primarily.

What do you think would give greater value and set me
apart from other marketers...

Thanks for your feedback!

It seems like the second option would be better because you're trying to get them into your marketing funnel.

In the first example, visitors will just get the info they were looking for (biz opps) and just leave without you offering them anything to get onto your list.

Just how I see it.

Why not combine both?

I feel that together they work perfect.

I would suggest focus your efforts on the flow and plan that will make them work together.

Send me a PM, let's discuss this.

Seth,

I believe that the 2nd choice would hold a higher perceived value for your prospect and consequently give you a higher quality prospect...

The first option will still get you traffic but... on a personal level I hate review sites because they are never unbiased and are actually designed to direct people ...even a little sneaky if you know what I mean.... A false sense of decision making on the part of the prospect.... Having said that they can still produce significant results.

I think the how to and seminar series would do far more to promote YOU as the undisputed Expert.... where as anyone can throw together a review site these days.

The only place I would use a review site is to make some quick affiliate commissions.

Cheers and Best of Success,

Roger

#2

Why?

Hopefully it can offer how to teach others the "how to" in our industry. That will be much more resourceful to you than a review site.

In my opinion a review site will get a visit then their gone. If you have loyal fans it may be because they are jumping around trying to find the right business when they really should be finding the right education instead.

I think the #2 option may offer your visitors value and in return you'll gain a more serious prospect pipe-line.

I have to agree with most of the other folks on this. The telesemiar series is the better choice. I've even used a free mp3 download where I interview another networker about a certain topic. This works great because you're delivering content that teaches people how to do something they need to learn, like getting more leads or traffic, or talking to prospects. Every networker wants to know how to get better at building the business they're ALREADY doing. Most networkers are not looking for another business opportunity. The review site might attract a lot of new people, which is fine, but if you want to get the best quality prospects, the teleseminar series would be better. :)

Seth,

I have to go with #2. People look for that sort of thing when they see a Lead capture page (or whatever you're using). Plus it adds value to yourself as a leader and a teacher.

Hey Seth,

Thinking like a prospect I would spend more time on a training based site that has different ideas I can use to apply to any network marketing company I choose.... Then, if I like your stuff I may look for a link to your recommended business(es).

A review site would just help someone get a idea of what business they may want to join, assuming you're being totally objective... but they will only succeed if they now "how to".

Based on the stats of the two sites, which one preforms better right now? Which list is most responsive or has the highest "time on page" per visit?

Malika

Seth,

The how-to stuff will typically always reign support over the review sites.

See you at the top,
