Bad Leads

Postby Andi Garba on Wed Jan 20, 2010 9:33 am

I just set up my PPC campaign with yahoo and whenever I check it, it says that I don't have any impressions or clicks but I have been getting new leads everyday since. The problem is that these leads are dead ends, they don''t use their real phone numbers and when I try to add their email address to my autoresponder, it says that the email address doesn't exist. Has this happened to anybody before? and if so what should I do?..

PPC is just a matter of testing and tweaking. The fact that they're not leaving their real PH or any PH. It could be a copy issue. Are you doing split ads? Not sure about Yahoo not showing your data. Yahoo is a lot easier to call than Goole, so you might want to call. They may try to sell you on them setting up your campaign.

Try adding a CAPTCHA code. This is easy to do with most content management systems including wordpress. There are several plugins available. That will ensure that only real people (of sound mind) are entering information.

I think perhaps somebody is trying to send spam via your website?

I don't do PPC, but I have had bad leads in the past. Most autoresponders do not check to see if the e-mail address is real, until it receives a bounce back from a fake e-mail. It could be someone interested in what you are offering, but not interested enough to give you their real information. On most capture pages you can enter any information or letters and be able to get to the next page.

Are you taking them to straight to a sales page or offering them something (like ebook, report, training) in exchange for their information? If you are giving them a offer, you can e-mail it to them and then take them to your sales page. This way, they have to give you a correct e-mail to receive their gift. Be sure that the prospects know they will receive their gift through e-mail.

Are you manually adding them to your autoresponder?

use an automated double optin, when they enter the email and details it is automatically added to your autoresponder which then sends out a confirming email that must be confirmed to receive anything further from you, whether a free report, training or other request information

If you are getting bad leads that do not take action something is wrong with your keywords for the landing page.

Do people buy your product/service with your keywords? In this case no and you will have to change them/ keep searching for the right ones.

Get the right keywords and ads that go to the landing page to convert that is the goal.

You know, I spent a fortune, maxed out my credit cards and didn't sign one person up using leads and finally figured out..they just don't work! You know who makes the money when you buy leads, the person selling them to you. You know, I have been in networking for almost 20 years and had never really found a long term residual income company to build once and only once until I found a coaching site called Mentoring For Free http://www.donnamajor.mentoringforfree.com and really got my eyes open about all the scams and companies that are only interested in putting money in their pockets and not taking care of their distributors. Not all MLM companies are created equally but how do you know just by looking at their product? MFF gave me the knowledge to ask the right questions and to know what to look for in order to insure my success in choosing a 5 pillar company. Don't know what a 5 pillar company is? Download Mentoring For FREE! Success In 10 Steps eBook … http://www.donnamajor.mentoringforfree.com

It's time for us business people to be educated.. you wouldn't take a job without understanding exactly how you are going to be paid now and in the future would you? Are you planning on building this once and only once? Will this be the company that you can do that with? Are these questions you would like answered?
Let MFF help you get the answers to help you make informative decisions about your MLM business. If you are a serious business builder, then know how to choose a company and a team for it's abiity to help you build a business should be first then you look at it's products. Knowledge is Power

On occasion I will get a bad lead, some people just like to play around and wasting time. If you continue your process that generates many leads your % of good leads should out weigh your bad leads.

Good content should bring in a good conversion rate.

Good Luck

I've tried PPC in the past and I find it quite difficult to achieve reasonable conversion rates, but that maybe something to do with a poorly optimised setup. I've found with organic opt-ins the quality is higher, however most of the phone numbers are not valid - I would probably do the same if I was entering my info in a landing page.

When you are 'selling' your MLM and have someone interested you might get a phone number but a MLM training course type page I think you would struggle.

Bad leads? How about practicing what everyone on this site is preaching? Don't put any links in any of your advertising. Build relationships with people FIRST. Gain their trust. Get people to ask you what you do for a living then SEND them to your website or conference call, but not before you get their phone number and valid e-mail address FIRST. Then follow-up with them.
