Newbie in need of direction

Postby Tony Gamberg on Mon Feb 09, 2009 12:29 pm

Hello everyone,

My name is Tony and I am in need of some advice. I have recently joined a health & wellness company about 2 weeks ago and have had zero progress thus far. This is greatly due to the fact that my mother is very ill and I have not been able to work with my sponser much at all. All I have managed thus far is increased my debt and pushed away my friends and family. At this time it is fair to say that I am desperate. My wife and I are expecting our first child any day now and I am frantic trying to get this rolling. I need the income to start rolling in yesterday... I dont have a clue on how to market this opportunity or where to begin. Everything I am reading now goes against everything I was taught by my company and now I am confused more than ever. I was hoping that someone here could show me the light and clear things up for me. My clock is nearly run out and my time is now.. Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.

Tony
This business is not about your product or service or even your opportunity. In this business you build relationships and show other people how to solve problems for example fill their needs! You need to focus on marketing YOU as a person when people see that you are a leader & an expert they will be willing to follow.

What have you been doing so far and then we can help you add to what you are already doing. Think about this Way, why did you join the company that you are working with, if you share that reason with people they would be willing to listen. I found a way to spend more time with my kids and work less hours. There are so many things that you can do to build your business being part of forums, face book, twitter, you tube and focus on adding value to others.

I hope this helps you feel free to ask for help any time.

Tony,

First off, don't PANIC, bro. You're in good hands here.

Have you picked up a copy of Magnetic Sponsoring yet?

If you have, then that would explain you learning something that you're not being taught by the people that sponsored you.

BTW... Congrats on the baby! It's a blessing. It's also a blessing that you're not too stubborn to ask for help.

I don't know jack about what you're marketing... but you should. Take a good look at what PROBLEMS your products solve and position them as the answer. I know that sounds vague, but really, think of it in those terms and you've got half the battle won.

The same thing goes for sponsoring.

If you can position yourself as a soon to be father, who understands the pains of others trying to understand how to cope with tough economic times... and then offer your education or opportunity as a the solution, and you'll understand how to win in this business.

Don't be a cheezey salesman about it... just be the sincere, transparent, authentic and completely awesome you.

This isn't the corporate sales world... this is a melting pot of people with fundamental needs and values. We just strive more than others. You sound like you're not having a good go at it. Don't worry. Take a breath, get on the learning curve, apply what you learn and teach it to others.

You'll win in this business. You're in a community of people who won't let you fail.

Just calm down, take a breath ask question and we'll hook you up. Friend me and I'll happily share with you what's working for me.

You're really blessed to have a child on the way BTW... :)

Hi Tony

It's a little hard to help you without knowing what you know so far. Have you any experience at working online? Are you able to generate traffic to your website? Do you have a website (your own, not a company site)? Do you know how to build a list? Do you know how to talk to the people on that list and position yourself as someone who 'might' be interested in working with them if they meet your qualifying conditions? Do you even know how to qualify them?

Not too sure what you've already been told so again, it's hard to say if it's right or wrong.

First thing is not to panic. 2 weeks isn't really very long unless you were hoping for the 'get rich quick' kind of business
Okay, I finally opened up.

Image.

Check out how I can help you.

Hi Tony,

I joined my company last September and spun my wheels for 4 months. It can be very frustrating so hang in there. I was asking for help, just not asking the right people. What works for some doesn't work for others. Being present online is a powerful, wonderful tool so use it. Relationships are key. This is a great resource because so many different people have opinions, you are bound to find something that will work. I am constantly learning and growing from the information here and have been able to share the wisdom to help my business grow.
I don't have much to offer you that you haven't already gotten. Connect with the people who are posting here and reach out to them. We are all willing to help.
Congrats on your baby. I have 3 boys of my own and there is nothing like being at home with them. Keep your eye on the prize, freedom, and keep asking the questions. You'll do great!
God bless you!

Tony...

STOP.

This is not the time you should be trying to do this.
You're putting yourself under way too much pressure.

Be there for your wife and your new baby who'll be
arriving ANY DAY day now. Be there for your mother.

You can pick things up again soon with your upline,
and this community.

Hi Tony, first all welcome to BN. 2nd, i agree with the others. take a deep breathe, relax because worrying doesn't solve the problem. so take some you time, and just rest your brain, body, everything. yes there is a lot of info to absorb from your opp and it doesn't help if your sponsor is still promoting the traditional ways to their down line. and i do agree that traditional marketing is out!

To give you the truth there is no shortcut to success. you are just going to have to get a plan together and take it one step at a time.

i was reading that when you try harder and harder to sell your opp. that's not a plan at all that's desperation and desperation does not work.

so maybe you need to step outside your opp for awhile and learn about network marketing itself, and what works in attracting targeted traffic and converting them to sales. then put it together in a productive marketing action plan.

to your success

s. castelan

ps i apologize, congrats on the new addition to the family.

Hey man!

Alot of people here know where you are coming from, but Better Networker is Mike Dillards site! He wrote Magnetic Sponsoring and Building on a Budget just for MLMers that are looking for another way to build their business. Many people have built businesses the old fashioned way (see Dani Johnson), but get these books from Mike Dillard. Congrads on the Baby Man! That's so great! Start learning and implementing what you need to do now, so your nest egg will be large!

This reminds me of someone needing money today to pay off their car and house payments yet need to wait to finish college first.

This industry requires a huge amount of learning and time. You can promote your business but at the expense of cutting your duties short at home. I know. I'm a father of 2.

Like stated before, read magnetic sponsoring. read it while you are waiting at the hospital waiting room for your wife's checkup (those were the longest).

You will understand that you can profit TODAY from people who could give a rats *ss about your health company. If done correctly, even enough to sustain you until you blow up your primary company.

All MLM companies take time to grow unless you have a HUGE list from before. Don't have a list? Get to cracking!

Get with a mentor you like and feel you can open up to. It's a relationship you can and should utilize. Don't go it alone. Fatherhood is hard enough and taking care of a sick mother would just stress you out to much.

Don't get a college degree without a professor - you will go crazy self learning everything
