Will Someone Please Explain Why..

Postby Guest on Fri Nov 14, 2008 3:02 pm

 Will someone please explain why betternetworker is the #1 social community for home business owners?

Am I wrong in thinking that this site is primarily intended for the use by individuals involved with Multi-Level Marketing and Network Marketing? (If there is even a difference)

To be involved in MLM or Network Marketing can in no way shape or form mean that one 'owns a/the business' and I don't understand why this is being touted as such, especially as betternetworker's slogan if you will.

Hey thankyou for the response Shelley.

I was recommended it by a member of my upline but strangely they don't have a profile....

There are a lot of apparently well meaning people here so that drew me in also I guess. Needless to say the site looks professional as well.

There appears to be some confusion here. We who have network marketing or multi-level marketing businesses (yes they are the same thing) do in fact OWN our business. We sell our products and we build our company/organization. It is no different than OWNING a Franchise. Network marketing businesses make up a very large portion of home businesses. The beautiful thing about this industry is that we rarely need to stock much product, we rarely need to concern ourselves with shipping and we have no administrative hassles, such as payroll. Network marketing is one of the most accessible means for OWNING a Home Business.

Welcome to our community. I hope I've helped clear up any confusion and answered your question

My understanding of a business owner is someone who owns a system or set of systems and is a person who organizes, operates the administration of, and assumes the risk for a business venture. MLM is a pre-made system we buy into instead of creating, just as an employee joins a corporation no?

I don't understand why you think that MLM or Network Marketing is not a home-based business? Perhaps it is often because people concentrate on the compensation plan, only to later discover that they didn't get the proper business licenses and record-keeping for taxes that every home business owner should have.

Also, not everything here is involved in network marketing directly. I offer coaching, personal development and business consulting services. I'm here to make connections with people who might need my services outside of BetterNetworker.com. I am here to "make more money, have more fun, and give more back."

That's what brings me here. What brought you here?

Try watching this video. It helps explain the benefits of Network Marketing, and the difference between having an MLM/Network Marketing business and owning a small business. You may have seen it before floating around the web. It was make by Robert Kiyosaki. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAV3I-xAGYo

Robert,

I'm somewhat confused. You just said that a definition of a business owner is someone who owns a system, etc, yet, in the next sentence, you said that MLM is a pre-made systems we buy into instead of creating. How can you own a system if it wasn't created yet? Does that mean that a owner of a McDonald's is really a MLM owner, since their system was pre-made? See where I'm going?

As for the people side, a successful network marketer does organize, operate, and assume the risk of his/her venture. If a network marketer lets their organization atrophy, it will fail. A professional network marketer does everything you just said a business owner should do. Their lack or participation in mentoring the people in their downline will cause their business to collapse.

Hey, if you're frusterated in this business, just remember there are two types of people in this world: those who complain about it and those who do something about it. There's a vast community who can help you. Just got to ask, brother. For instance, if you go here, you can get awesome information for nothing. I just came back from a seminar of like 15 people, and it was absolutely awesome! Check it out and you'll be surprised.

No. An employee is different to a business owner. The employee is dependant on the wage and he or she gets paid on monthly basis on what they are told he or she is getting paid. There's a limit, there's none where I am at except what I put as a limit. I'm not an employee mentality, but an entrepreneur, a business owner, running my business from home.

Is tesco not a business owner? Most of the stuff on their shelves ain't even there's. The shops you see, gets their product from somewhere else, called wholesalers. Are they not business owners? I can pick another few hundred examples.

Anyone can have a system mate, but not everyone is going to succeed in running successfully. That takes a different mentality, discipline, leadership and knowledge.

I think there's too much I feel, of "what is a business owner," and "who is an entrepreneur" and so on. I cannot understand how one can associate employee with a employer, busines owner.

Whether it's someone else's system or someone else's product, try give that same thing to someone out there, many won't succeed. Because it takes something more. Which have been explained in other threads regarding "entrepreneurship."

Anyway, enjoy your stay here and welcome. Lots of info, knowledge and help here.
