Hey Everyone!
I was wondering if anybody knows how to take a flash video and embed it into a Wordpress page or post and make it viewable such as a embeded youtube video. Except I want to use my own player not youtube's and host the video on my own website.

Hi Matthew,
The easiest way to get the embed code for your video is to first post it on your You Tube channel which will generate an embed code for you to use on your WP blog. Then, when you are creating your post be in the HTML editor mode and just paste the code in.
You will have the You Tube logo on the video but that's not a bad thing as people will then also redirect to You Tube and subscribe to your channel if they like your content and you can link to your blog from your You Tube channel, giving you an authority site backlink, link love for your blog!
Hope this helps!

Thanks Meg!
While that is helpful, I am looking specifically for a way to get video that is located only on my blog. This is for my sales funnel.
Thanks Again,
Matt Cassity

Hey Matt,
You'll want to use the FV Wordpress Flowplayer plugin. You can find it in the wordpress.org plugin directory. And you'll need to create your videos in either .mp4 or .flv format. To insert the video in wordpress just use this code [flowplayer src=videourl width=640, height=360]. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Needed! Wordpress Flash Video Advice!
Hey Matt, yeah if you search the WP plugins directory you can find a few different ones that do the trick.
Like meg said, bouncing people to your youtube channel can be beneficial for them subscribing to your other stuff, etc. But for some videos I would prefer to not have it be the youtube version, also being able to host on your own account means you can have exclusive content that you only give out to your newsletter list or such. You can also do videos about those exclusive content videos and pull people off of you tube to your site.
Also, if you upload videos FIRST to your site you can keep them in a video library there so people don't HAVE to go to youtube to get your next video, they just subscribe to your rss or get on your list and know they'll get the videos there. That can help with a variety of things like exposure and SEO if people start discussing your stuff on your site instead of on youtube. Anyway, you then upload the same video to your youtube account or embed it to youtube from your site. that way if anything ever happens to your youtube account you didn't just lose a big chunk of your video library or lose its ability to be displayed online.
just a thought.
hmmm...and something that has little do with even less, i seem to have switched into "no-caps" mode at some point.... if the inconsistency bothers anyone i apologize.
take it easy,
jm

another plugin you might want to look into if you want that video player that the amazon hosting uses is wordtube. it makes my favorite kind of player and is extremely easy to use.

Thanks JonMark and Landon,
I have found a few plugins that work for my purposes.
I have not heard of Wordtube. I am going to look it up right now.
Thanks Again,
Matt Cassity

flv embed is good:

& also Youtube with style:

I use both - eg the second video on http://magneticwebvideo.com uses youtube with style
