Facebook Issue; Need help

Postby Rick Canale on Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:19 am

I have a facebook account but seem to have two different profiles I need to consolidate. Here is the help I need:

1. When I sign on I get one profile: http://www.facebook.com/rick.canale1 and it is one profile. I then click on the "Home" or "Profile" tab and get a totally new and revised sight I have been working on (http://www.facebook.com/rick.canale1#!.

Does anyone have any insight on how I can consolidate or fix this or should I simple clsoe them both out and start again?

Rick, I don't know how to fix your problem, but I have one I need fixed too. Maybe you can help or someone out there can.

How do you build a "FanPage"? I've seen them out there and am learning that they are very important these days for your business as Facebook is becoming just as popular as Google & will be surpassing them here in the near future. Can anyone give me some insight on where to go on Facebook to build mine? And possibly how to get it started? I would be forever grateful for any help given.

Rick, I will ask around my business and see what others say about fixing your situation.

Thanks for letting me ask for help, as well, on your Forum.

Not exactly sure about it. But why not try to see your account setting maybe you'll find it there. Also, in my case whenever I have problems with Facebook and couldn't find any solutions to it I just email their support to assist me on this area. Hope you can find solutions soon.

Rick,
I clicked on your 2 links, they show up the same to me, is there actually any issue with the 2 different addresses?

I have a similar thing on twitter, where my profile is twitter.com/elleBillias but in my address bar it shows up twitter.com/#!/ElleBillias

Dynelle,
To set up a facebook page just type in the FB search box "Create" and you will see a link to "create new facebook page" http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

To make it easy, I'd suggest Fan Page Engine.
Search for them on Facebook.
Should be easy to find.

As regards having two accounts problems I had exactly the same problem (I was using the names Jim Ticehurst & James Ticehurst) and I sent facebook an email explaining the situation and they fixed it for me. No problem.

As regards the fan page thing well I don't know anything about that but I was watching a video about it a while back. Chris Farrell owns this site and he had a guest speaker explaing it...the guest did get a bit salesy (is there such a word?) once or twice and Chris kinda shut him up a bit but it might be worth a look (and it's free), thats all, good luck, regards Jim T.
