Welcome to the community. I saw your post about being surprised no one had communicated with you yet when you introduced yourself here yesterday. I'm a bit surprised myself. I think it comes to show how many people are not yet familiar with how to network effectively online. But everyone's learning fast! And many people just haven't seen this yet. You'll find lots of great networkers here who are more than happy to connect up and network.

For example, if several people posted something when you did, your post may not have displayed long the first day (but it IS displaying again today because I commented on it... and THAT happened because you participated in a forum post by leaving a comment, which led me to your profile where I found this post).

The more you interact the more your 'stuff' will be seen and the more interaction takes place. It's really a great system. Just give it a bit more time.

I have no doubt with a little more time you'll see many wonderful people welcome you. Particularly after you have commented in the discussions, which I see you've started to do.

I had directly commented to one of your posts, and then tried to send a personal message to you with a link if you were interested, but it didn't work. They recently changed the policies so both parties need to become 'friends or associates' before private messaging because there was an issue with so many spam messages coming through that tool to new people who entered. It's an ever developing process to improve the tools of such a site, but they're responding quickly to the new needs that arise as the site grows.

I saw your profile and what you offer (publishing books, empowerment products for women) and it sounds like you could provide a lot of help to the community. I might share some suggestions if I get a moment and can send you a private message soon. It didn't work when I tried it earlier but perhaps it just needs a little more time to pass (most likely that's what it is now that I think about it).

Hi Jean,

You've started out on the right foot by introducing yourself to the community and making friends with Mike Klingler. I'd suggest simply reading through the forums and when someone says or does something you respect or admire, ask them to be friends.

Personally, I think the friend request system still needs some tweaking, because the way it is now you can't send ANY kind of communication to someone to let them know why you are requesting their friendship. I suppose that is a topic for a different discussion (don't want to hijack this one ).

I am going to send you a friend request, as well. I will do what I can to help you get acclimated here.

Hi Jean,
I don't think we've met. I'm fairly new here and just poking around trying to meet people and find out what they have going on. My name is Michelle Moseley. I'm a hairdresser. Did you do your hair yourself? That is SO cool! I used to have a pink braid in the back, but I love it in the front! I just got a tattoo today, so maybe I should wait on the hair. Let hubby get used to one thing at a time.

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome. Glad so many of you believe I have something to offer the group. I am outlining some articles, not to post all at once though. Don't want to overwhelm everyone!

I also appreciate the comments on my hair. It does cause some odd looks when I go out and about, even in Southern California. That's all right, though. I just LOVE being the center of attention.

And, Michelle, I do indeed color my own hair.

I look forward to getting to know everyone better and learning much for the members of this group.
