A Weber vs Go Daddy for email marketing

Postby Charmaine Fuller on Mon Feb 22, 2010 10:23 pm

Ok I need thoughts. I have email marketing services with both Go Daddy and A Weber and somebody has to go. What do you use and what do you use it for? It appears the only difference between the two is the price A Weber is 19.99 per month and Go Daddy is $7.99 per month gotta compare what I'm getting with each one. Thoughts please.

They are completely different services. AWeber is an autoresponder service. It let's you send personalized, pre-written messages or broadcasts to your entire list.

Your GoDaddy email service is just for the personal email address that you use with your domain... Example: John@JohnDoe.com

I can only talk about Aweber here for the above reasons Mike mentioned.

I have been using iContact for almost 4 years and also used Get Response for a short time. But recently I decided to try Aweber and I can honestly say it is the best autoresponder program out of the 3 of them.

There is now way I would use the other 2 now. For convenience and less confusion I would recommend Aweber even though the starting price for it is $10 per month more than iContact. It will save you a ton of time and headaches.

Aweber rocks!

I have had Aweber for about five years. It is simple, easy to use and integrate with websites and blogs. You can also set it up to send RSS feeds from your blog to your list every time you add a new post or as a summary at the end of the week.

Aweber definitely sets the gold standard for autoresponders.

As for GoDaddy, I have not got a lot to say about them. I have never used their services. That is because I have heard that GoDaddy has a very strict, no spam policy and has been quick to shut down accounts when they get spam complaints. It has not happened to me, so I may be completely wrong, but I was not going to take that risk. Maybe someone who has experience with GoDaddy can add their opinion regarding that.

So if I were in your shoes, I would drop GoDaddy mail, stick with Aweber, and find a host that gives unlimited email addresses.

Well thank you, it seems the only difference is the RSS blog feed which I don't use. So it really wouldn't be a big deal for me. They have auto repsonder, website signup forms, links to place in other places, there's comes with a survey feature that you can use to see what people think about your services and the price is $7.99. Just found out through Godaddy (since my blog is through them) I can send out updates from my blog to those on my email marketing contact list. Thanks to you all

I am currently using Get Response, I am thinking about switching to Aweber. Just wondering is it worth switching over to Aweber?

I believe you will see the difference, between GetResponse and Aweber.

Last year I switched all of my hosting over to GVO. Prior to that I had a reseller account that I used, as well as hosting at domainspricedright.com. The biggest reason for the switch was all of the all inclusive tools I was spending a fortune on elsewhere. Including aweber.

Don't get me wrong. Aweber is still the autoresponder rockstar. They have in my opinion priced themselves out of reach for a lot of new people with small lists.

Exactly, they are over 20 bucks for a list of 500 when go daddy is 8. By the way Go Daddy is not just for email hosting and domain hosting anymore guys. Check them out, they have turned themselves into a self contained business center. You can host your website, they design websites and logos, they have Email Marketing just like Aweber just cheaper, they have blogs, legal services(which are so much cheaper than legal zoom for the same thing) etc etc etc. Go Daddy is the one stop shop and the prices are pretty good. some services are comparable, some a little more expensive some cheaper. They are doing a good job at having a monopoly on this market. But trust me when I say they are so much more to Go Daddy know than just domain hosting and email hosting. I understand what you guys are saying about a weber but after looking at all options I just don't think they're all that. I guess I'm hooked on Go Daddy I like not having to go to multiple sites to update. I don't know guess it's a matter of preference.

Don't mind admitting I'm wrong

Postby Charmaine Fuller on Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:19 am

Ok, don't mind admitting when I'm wrong and boy was I. Somehow I forgot that I had 2 bizzes and that I needed aweber for that purpose so when someone signed up for one list I could just transfer it to my other and use them for both, Plus the blog feature that they tried to sale me on isn't all they claimed it to be etc etc etc. Aweber does win I just didn't want to hear it cause I was trying to save money in the short run, plus I'm a girl and I wanted to prove you guys wrong. So away with godaddy email marketing maybe they'll tweak somethings out and I'll go back but for right know they are gone and I'm back with Aweber. Have a great weekend guys and take care and thanks for the advice.

I've used both Aweber and Get Response, both are great email marketing tools but when it comes to the most bang for you buck, I use Response 2.0. This auto-responder has most of the features the big named systems have with a monthly fee of only $12.99 per month for up to 10,000 members. The other two charge BIG for additional members over 500.
