Hello all!
I am brand new to the whole MLM world and so far I am really enjoying the learning process. However, I could really use some advice on my first steps. I don't yet know enough to be an authority so I don't think I can do a blog yet. I am reading everything I can get my hands on at the moment about attraction marketing but don't yet know the first real step in implementing these ideas. Although, I have purchased a domain name. Any advice on the next step (such as the whole autoresponder thing) would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge!

Re: Brand New To MLM....Advice?
Read my blog.
Don't spend a dollar more than you have to.
Set up your foundation before you try to market anything.
Sign up for a webinar on my blog's home page. No cost, good training.
Once you've paid for something, study it, learn it, make it part of what you know.
Then implement it.
Don't buy another program til you're a master of the last one you bought.
Pick one marketing strategy at a time.
Once you've got that one up and running, add another.
As you gain experience, you'll be able to juggle 2, then 3, etc.
This process will take months.
FOCUS.
Distractions, whether it's new training, techniques, other programs, etc., will kill your progress.
DO NOT stay on 3 dozen mailing lists. Clean up your email. It's one of the biggest distractions
there is. Remember. Focus on what you're doing. Don't worry, you won't miss anything, and the
stuff that's worth looking at will still be around when you're ready for it.
If you have any questions, ask me.
I'll help you find the answers you're looking for, whether you're on my team or not.
Oh yeah. One more thing.
This is probably the toughest thing you've ever gotten involved with.
It's frustrating, heart-breaking, paradigm shifting and a dozen other things.
One thing it ain't, is easy.
So buckle up.
It's a bumpy ride.
But you can make it.

Michelle... do you have a business plan? Daily method of operation, Weekly Method, a system for tracking/troubleshooting these things? What is your operating budget? Do you have a seperate account for your business? Do you know where you will allocate money if you do make it? I would look after these things first and foremost, remember that you are in business and you should treat yours accordingly.

Hi Michelle
Welcome to BN and also the MLM industry.
You've received some amazing advice here already, there isn't a huge amount I could add except for being ruthless with your time and your planning.
Keep a daily plan and at the end of it tick off what you've achieved and what you haven't. Also set a date for when you want to be "live" (or are you already?).
The key is to drive traffic to your website(s) and get people opting in by giving value.
You will find so much information on this site, it really is a godsend, I wish I had found it when I was first starting out!
I would also start with your blog now as you can gradually build it up and offer more advice as you learn. Remember a blog is about you and at the end of the day people are going to buy from those they like and trust so you need to start building a relationship with those that are reading your blog now. I have a mixture of blogs about me and my family, something interesting/funny going on in the world and useful information about business, marketing etc.
Wishing you much luck and success, try not to feel too overhwhelmed with everything, you will get there.

Hi Michelle, welcome to BN.
You have me confused though. It's good you're new to MLM, but really what do blogs, domains and autoresponders have to do with anything? MLM need not be built online... unless you are operating an online-only model. If that's the case, you probably need to read this:
http://www.doonlinebusiness.info/2009/1 ... marketing/
If not, learn MLM from your upline and then bring it over to the internet so you're not confusing the tools of each trade. And here's how you'd use attraction marketing - online or offline:

Re: Brand New To MLM....Advice?
Blogging isn't hard to do. Take what you learn, write about what you learned, and repeat. You don't have to be a guru to express what it is you are doing, what you are experiencing, what lessons you learn, what mistakes you make. There are lots of people who are not in any kind of business at all who blog about random things. If your blog has a purpose, an actual idea behind it, then the more you do it the better you get and the more you learn. A great part of learning is teaching. When you can actually explain something that you know, it actually means that you have learned to do it. Then you learn to do it better. Go to other people's blogs and see what they talk about, see what subject they teach, and then create your own style, and blog.
Social networking is another avenue you can take that costs you nothing. Talk to people who know more than you, talk to people who are in businesses different than you, talk to people who know how to market...better than you, join groups that can teach you things you want to know about, and so on. There are plenty of people I learn from who are on Facebook, I follow them and their groups, and I learn what they have to teach....I internalize it and I teach it to my groups. I am not a guru, but I have people who read what i write and listen to what I say, because I take the time to learn from those who know more than me.
And of course dialing into all the lessons and expertise here on Better Networker will assist you greatly and getting better with all areas of marketing, networking, and building your business.
Once you learn to understand the stuff you can learn just by connecting with people, then you can start to spend money (selectively and carefully) on the courses or program or marketing systems that will advance you knowledge and expertise.
