It answers the question that many people ask, "What is BetterNetworker".

Like you, I see a lot of people on here for the wrong reasons, but I also see a lot of people here for the right reasons.

I've also built some good relationships here, and I've also met a number of people that haven't quite figured it out yet.

Although this is a "networking" site, it's also an incredible source of learning and sharing.

I've had people see my "shared" info on FB and ask me what BN is, and I've come to the conclusion that its doesn't really fit the mold of many of the traditional social sites because it lends itself to much more than socializing.

As always you post awesome information. I have been following Adam also and he has shared some incredible information. This really is a business of networking... meaning to get to know people and share thoughts and ideas.
I have learned so much here on betternetworker.com. It has aided me in a lot of technical information and helped answer questions to building a web page, capture page, and so forth.
When you share information you become the teacher and if you have to teach something you actually learn it better.. if that makes sense.
Always an eye opening to read and learn from you Dean.

I do not get back on this site as often as I would like, but I have to say it Rocks. I can't think of many other sites that are as accessible for getting real training for this business. Sure, there are several hundred blogs out there that you could possibly learn more from, but who has time for that?

The more time that you spend here, the more you begin to recognize who you should and shouldn't be taking advice from. Even if people are not transparent by choice, it will always become apparent eventually.

Frankly speaking, i do have to say this place is an absolute goldmine.

You can actually throw away all the articles, videos, blogposts from this site and STILL this site would be valuable beyond measure because of ONE thing and ONE thing only: THE INTERACTIVE FORUM.

As Charles Heflin rightly puts it, here in the forums we undergo something called as the MINDSHARE which I think is absolutely critical as it totally ends up influencing you and your decisions for the good.

Listening to people like Richard Bravo, Adam Taha, Dean Mcnamara, James Stein, Melvin Goodrum, Daegan Smith and so many others allows you to have a better understanding of things from not only one angle but from various angles. And this is something that cannot be learnt from any of the courses.

Yes the skills are there to be learnt from the courses but the real interactions is what allows us to develop a sound thought process thereby heavily influencing our business decisions from a much more deeper sense.

Being a guy who is literally addicted to this site (but rarely ever participated in anything), I will admit that the things which I have learnt over the past year is so invaluable that you just cannot put a price tag on it. This learning has helped me become a much more stronger person with a clear cut clarity on what I really want from my business and I really do mean this when I say it.

Sadly though, the one thing which i notice here is that most people come here and look at the whole forum as a quality lead generation source. Yes, it could be one but I honestly think that learning here and applying your knowledge outside would yield far more results than just posting here to get some people onto your list.

Sure you could get some leads and customers, but I think the real value in forums is in its interaction and how you apply the KNOWLEDGE gained from that interaction.

If one get loads of leads through this process, then it's great but I think the primary PURPOSE of participating in forums is to share and learn by building up a powerful relationship with people.
All the rest becomes secondary.

Thanks Dean for a great post. I must admit I haven't been on Better Networker that long but already in my short time am seeing the types of people you discussed.

I have already got so much value from Better Networker. Everyone on here is so generous about sharing and helping.

Sometimes it's not just about seeing the money sign but about a community that is there to support, help, motivate and encourage you. That's why I love Better Networker.

As with anything worthwhile, you get out of it what you put in it.

I've been here a week and was reviewing some of the content in the forum and came across a post that had blatant spam ads for some hand bags, I thought, WTF, not here too .

I guess that is, the spam, some of the bull you've got to waid through in order to get to the real value, networking, connections, great content, because it's here

Great post Dean! It's all about adding value. Think of others first, not WIIFM (what's in it for me). I'm not here to get people to join my team, i'm hear to learn from everyone - regardless of whether they are with the company I am with or not. I think forums like this add so much value, particularly to newbies who might be a little lost.

literally, after I get my daughter off to school and exercise. I begin to read articles from BN and it changes my mindset of networking. There is real value on this site. There is so much value and so many leaders here sharing information. Thank you for being a great role model on this platform
