I would be the first one to say that I am not techno-savvy.
A few years ago, I heard about getting a domain name. I searched and found a site to buy a domain name. Finally I have moved into the 21st Century! Three years later, nothing happened! Next I hear about a faster web site. I went and purchased another web site. They say they are faster. A year later, nothing. They are just as fast as the first web site. I renewed my domain name. They sent me a message to renew again. I tried to let them know that I had already renewed for another. I went to the web site to contact them and started clicking around. It has been sitting in front of my face for the past 3+ years. The 'help' button didn't help. It's been a week working at this.
Usually when I get frustrated I stop and do something else. We bought a new printer and I couldn't get it to work. We sent it back. They checked it and found that I had sent over 30 requests to print!
This may sound funny to some of us. And I know coming to the BN many will be laughing with me instead of at me. But I need help in setting up a domain site! All responses will be printed with many thanks!

What are you going to use the site for? We have been there, done that and didn't even get any t-shirts so I know where you are coming from. Are you going to blog? or build a website? or just use the domain name to transfer company-website to because the name is catchy or what? I think if you told us your objectives, maybe others on here could be of more help than me but I will try. Good luck,

You hit the nail on the head with this subject. I see a lot of material that interests me that I can use to build my multiple streams of income that could go with my main affliate business.
I started another business but now can't find it on the web. It always sends me to another site. I bought an item from it but redirected me to another account in my family. Another member in the family went to it and they changed it again. I might have lost the residual to this account.
I started a blog site. Can't find it anymore and I was blogging every week to stay regular.
I purchased two more sites but haven't the time to get to them lately.
Now I am looking to put all these sites under one website so it would be easier for everybody to find them and follow along with this author.
Current status, don't buy another item. Start using what I have. I probably have everything I need, I just need to use them!

... wow... and here I thought I was the only 'scatterbrain' out there! (And Mario, please believe me when I say I mean no disrespect here).

"Have Visa, will travel" was unfortunately my motto for many years. I'd come across a website and buy whatever they were selling. Most of it I've never used, implemented or followed-through with. When I'm doing well, I'm focused, when times get a little tough I seem to resort to roaming the web for 'help'.

And I think 'focus' is the key here. I'm no expert, so I will not be telling you what you need or don't need. But I do agree with your last statement... that if you feel you have everything you need, then you probably do.

As far as putting it all together, I'm a little confused on what you are trying to accomplish. If I understand, you have numerous sites that you want to make a directory of sorts for, using one URL (domain name) as a landing page perhaps?

If that is in fact the case, could it be as simple as grabbing a screen capture of the website(s), converting them to a set of clickable thumbnail photos, say 300x300 and putting them on a webpage or two along with a description of each site?

I have been buying everything in sight, and wondering why it didn't work.
What you said at last was completely over my head.
I've gone back and reviewed what I had purchased. For the past three years I had this program and renewed it, wondering when will I see results. I just happened to check into it, and to my amazement, I never started. They said they were the fastest and they would do everything as setup, publishing and promoting to the web. I see that I have a lot of work ahead of me.
The saying goes still, 'I have everything I need in my backyard.'
The next time you go buy something, work with it until you see results before buying something else. It seems to cut down on a lot of clutter on your desk, mind, and your pocket!

The title got me to thinking you were talking about stuff in my house. We're in the process of packing up to move and we're finding so much sh*t that we haven't touched in years that's now on it's way to Goodwill or the dump. So, to answer your question, yes, I've bought stuff I never used. We're a buying kind of society.

As to your "scattered" marketing approach, I have refused to move forward one more inch without some sort of overall, all encompassing umbrella plan. The shot gun approach doesn't work. Blam, did I hit anything? No? Blam, nope, nothing wounded. Blam, Blam, Blam. Without some directions and focus I could have been shooting until the cows came home (unharmed by the way) and still be wondering why no results.

Put down the credit card, step away from the computer. Figure out who you want to approach and what you want you want to say to them. One of the best books (OK, one last purchase) is Michael Port's "Book Yourself Solid." Takes you through the process of identifying your target market and knowing your niche. (Two different things.) You will have to do the work, but the results are outstanding.

I believe you are right, Rick.
I am in a product and I would like to add to that to build another stream of income. This gives the customer another choice instead of the one opportunity.
We are a 'buying' sort of people and always buying or collecting stuff and never get to use it or what it was meant to be used for.
I met a lady who was always buying clothes. She bought so much that she came home and found she had already bought the same item and the price tag was still on it and hanging in the closet.
Operating a business should not be that way. But we still collect and not able to get around to using these products.
My resolution is to stop buying 'stuff' and find the things that I have already on my desk and put them into use. That will certainly cut down on the clutter and rebuying 'stuff' that I already may have.
