It’s interesting that someone finally predict that facebook someday will be shut down .. it’s more than a website i say … Facebook is making their own web browser and that will help them to control their user ,, also i heard ios 6 will be an integrated with facebook this will make a huge thing for the company .. i say no , facebook will not shutdown that easy.

The only way that I see that will shut down Facebook is that if everybody stops talking over the site. Communicating with long away friends and keeping in contact with family daily is what kept Facebook so popular. Facebook has made shortcuts from using the telephone and mailing family and friends who are in different time zones at the same time.
The only thing missing from Facebook is that face to face contact and actually hearing their voices but you see everything else including photos of family events and updates on their lives.
I can see Facebook changing or evolving but not shut down altogether.

nooooo, don't get rid of Facebook!
I have only been on FB for a short time, but I have made contact with family on the other side of the world who I haven't seen for nearly 30 years! To me it has been a great way of connecting.

Facebook, like Google, will only get shut down (or go defunct) if one of two things happen:

1. People boycott and stop using the services completely (highly unlikely)

2. They become a complete monopoly and are broken up by the government

I don't know of any other way they would do defunct or get shut down.

Good answer Chuck. Yes, I agree with you.
There are so many people having Facebook account, and communicating with their family and friends over the internet through Facebook. I think no one really want Facebook to be shut down, except its competitors'.

Of course an analyst would say something negative about some new technology. There has always been negativity in new ways of doing things to improve our lives.
Some people would like to go back to the horse-and-buggy days when it was simplier and less fog in the air. When a postage stamp was 1 cent and there were more jobs available than there were people to fill them.
This new technology brings on new challenges where there are jobs available and not enough poeple to fill them with the right education and skills to compete in today's society.
More jobs have been created like facebook and the likes of Steve Jobs than any other time in history. All we have to do is maintain our education levels and raise them to compete for these types of technology jobs for today's economy.
Just think that the person who invented the windshield wiper system created more jobs than the person who was on the corner cleaning windshields.
Facebook created more jobs and bring more people together from far away places than just one person knocking on the neighbor's door to say 'hi!'

Nothing stays the same the internet is ever evolving. We should not be dependent on any one online strategy. Will be have something I believe we will, maybe it will be a more mobile version.

Whether it does, or whether it doesn't really isn't the issue for
those of us in this industry, in my opinion.

Technology is ALWAYS changing, and we who market on the
Internet will adapt. We always do.

In my mind, the issue for us is becoming over-dependent on a
particular platform (or two).

Facebook...and the Internet itself...is a great business tool, but
it's just that. A tool. It gives us great leverage, sure, but it's just
a tool we use to conduct business.

If it does go away, it will likely be because someone came up with a
new tool that serves us better. And we marketers will pounce on it
just like we did Facebook.

The most successful entities in this world are those that adapt to the ever-changing times. As times and trends change, people's values change as well as needs and wants. Us entrepreneurs are meant to constantly evolve in this environment. It is the sure way to growth.
