If you want to start your own online business, there really is no better way than as an Affiliate Marketer. You don't have any of the usual headaches involved, such as product creation, product delivery, customer service etc.. you just need to drive the traffic and collect the commissions! Make sure you pick a good product from ClickBank (for example) and do your research. Think positive and go for it!

Affiliate businesses are good for beginners because they don't have to invest money to buy products, they just need a platform. It sounds simple but you decide, is it that easy to find your target for an online business? I think that an affiliate program needs more experience and more traffic than promoting other businesses. As an affiliate you are just promoting and selling the product, but MLM businesses allow you to create stronger relationships as partners not just as a seller.

Good points Adrian, I completely agree. Being an affiliate marketer is a great place to start for a newcomer as it allows them to gain knowledge and experience, and earn money quickly. But from there, if people want to build a solid, long-term business then they need to focus on building their own list of subscribers. To move on you need to find a good mentor (as I finally did!), learn and take MASSIVE action!!

Being an affliate is a great way to start an internet marketing business. Being an affliate of a business that you like and had done research on the products and its benefits. You do want to be inline with what you are promoting. And what you are promoting does not conflict with other products and services that you plan to look at. Like, you can not promote two competitors in the same field. Hiring a company to do the work for you will multiply your efforts with experience and better results.

Agreed; affiliate marketing is a good way to get started, but affiliate products should be a part of your longer term business plan as well so you can ensure your income comes from multiple streams.

This is a Great Thread & I have to Agree With The Other Contributions, Affiliate Marketing is a Great Way to Start Online ,Especially If The Products are Proven as Well. Always Choose Tested Versions, but Ideal to Start.

In Fact My Offline Business, has been Running 15 Years & Is Exactly That, An Affiliate Related Business. Those that Say Affiliate Marketing Doesn't Work ,Either haven't tried it, or Have Given Up Early on. If you look at Examples Like Tesco or Walmart, They Go for Different Brands from Suppliers, because It covers all The Market Place.

This topic is interesting but the way I see it is, it deviates people off their network marketing company and has landed us up in the mess we are currently experiencing online.

Chances are you got involved in network marketing for the opportunity to create a substantial income from owning your own business. You saw your network marketing company as the answer to the shifting economy, you understood the built in infrastructure, the "no skills" needed as training is personalized scenario and you saw the potential to change your life.

You get online or maybe your upline directed you to the internet and that's where the training deviates you off your network marketing business and directly to making an income from affiliate sales (get more leads) which isn't what you signed up for !

START with learning the skills of talking to people about your MLM ! That's what network marketers do - talk to people about their MLM.

Learning how to be an effective affiliate marketer (who puts their MLM on the back burner) takes years to perfect when we could focus and train effectively how to build an MLM right, from day one.

Interesting Comments Joyce, Depends on How Much Affiliate Marketing The Individual Does, as to Whether it becomes a Distraction or Deviation Away from Their Main MLM Business. I agree With You, It is Called Network Marketing, because you Need to Speak to People, But the Internet Helps Speed that Process Up.

As Networkers ,We all Need to Have Some Form of 'Affliliate' Insurance in Place, which helps us Build our Main MLM Business. What are Others Views?

It takes money, time and effort to drive traffic to your chosen affiliate. The one question I would ask is who owns the leads once they click through?
Do you want to build someone else's list or your own?
