I believe I was wrong. What do you believe?

Postby Coffee Money on Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:28 am

TIME: I have always believed my time in this life will be marked by something special; a great invention, a unique skill that I teach to others or a huge empire of some sort that I would help to build...

I believe I was wrong.

I would plan and prepare for this to happen and tell myself that tomorrow, next week or next month, when the TIME was just right... I would do what needed to be done to make this happen.

I let my plans prevent my life from becoming remarkable.

LIFE got in the way... I let it consume me. I let it take "ME" and make my LIFE "normal" .. I became that person we see in the street, who walks the same path as 99% of other people passing through this place. I forgot my dreams, desires and determination to LIVE an extraordinary life..

LOVE & CONTENTMENT became part of my life and I left my own world to live a life as husband, father, friend... forgetting ME.

I woke up recently to find ME.

I like the guy.

He has dreams.
He has friends, family and people who love him.

and he has TIME again...

TIME to write his true story and TIME to BE..

If this helps you in any way leave a comment below...

Let the world know where you are right now and where you are heading and share what has held you back, what beliefs you had that created barriers in your life and how you have changed those beliefs to move forward...

Thank you Dave :)

Applied Education is essential. Something else happens though, an inner voice for some..that speaks (or screams) "wake up, this IS your life. Now, go LIVE it!"

I'm pleased this hit home a little - I know we all have our own journey to make but I believe we can lend each other a hand (for no other reason) to make that journey more interesting and a little easier, while adding a lot of joy.

Thank you Jared. The post was shared simply to say "This is where I am. This is where I've been. This is where I'm heading..." If it helps someone else to make their own journey that's even better. You're welcome to share the road with me ;-)

You would wonder what you believe when you see what others see in you.
I had a glimpse into my mother's life. We perceived her as a quiet woman full of life in her own way. But in reality, we were really overwhelmed how rich and well known this little woman was. She was very well known in her communities. Everybody looked to her for guidance in doing her job. People still depended on her for things to be done even after her term in office was over. She continued to serve others.
We must be like that. Not looking back on what we have done, but what we are able to do for others.

You are getting some good responses Neil. What I would say is that the Audios and CDs that the Global Information Network have, will help you in this area ~ Massively!

This is an article I wrote earlier this year. Enjoy and I hope you haven't seen it.

An Autumn to Anticipate
Terry Franklin Warner, 2012

I knew it was coming a few years ago. I gave up fighting the waistline and playing basketball and sports in general. It wasn't so much the physical stress that affected me as much as the mental.
I was not ready for the mental slowdown. I turned 65 without much fanfare, but with a nice birthday party, good fellowship with friends, and my wife of 40 years.
My, how the time has flown by. Seems like only yesterday I was at the top of my game, showing others how to succeed and teaching others how to live life to its fullest. Now I'm being shown ~very graciously ~ by others how to sit back and let someone else take control of life's challenges.

I sit in amazement at the computers and applications that I see the younger generation interact with so effortlessly, while I struggle with email and Facebook and Smartphones.
I recall, much to the youngsters' chagrin, how I made it through life without any of these fancy gadgets......but deep inside, wish I could handle the Information Age with as much ease as they do.
I am forced by my physical limitations, to stand down, while my mind still tries to handle situations like I did 40 years ago.

Am I ready to give up? NO WAY!
I am ready to enter a new phase of life. It requires walking away from all of the electronic gadgets and lifestyle that I have grown dependent upon. It requires walking TOWARD my children, grandchildren and wife to rediscover the fun-filled weekends, the evening games, the holding of hands, and the enjoyment I get when I just stay close to her.
After all, she is the one who gave me meaning and direction when I met her. We have raised her three children, adopted four more, and fostered several more. What a fulfillment I have received from marrying her.

All of my life was planned to work toward retirement. Now, slowing down has to be planned as well. Not a big fear ~ just a small one ~ of being left out. I watched as my parents aged and then passed on. I watched as Robert & Mary, who were so vibrant and independent, slowly wind their life down in a nursing home.
How many times I prayed they would pass on without the indignity of nursing home care that is inevitable.

The problem is learning to stay busy and focused on purpose. I must adapt and change over to a different mindset and mental strategy. I must find purpose when it is not evident, keep applying myself to things I can still do and be good at.
I am good at building relationships; I am good at loving to be around my grandchildren; and I am still a good parent to my own children.
I am good at enjoying the day. Since I haven't crashed, I suppose I am a good pilot......good at fishing, picnics, having a good time ~ just good at living.

When I think through my retirement, I am happy to have made it this far. I am looking forward to entering the autumn of my life. Winter is still some time away, and I plan to enjoy this autumn to the fullest. I may be older and slower, but I am more matured and have had more experience in having fun and enjoying life than my younger friends.

I think I will go find the love of my life and see what mischief I can get into. Yes, sir, I think this is one autumn I am looking forward to.

Terry
