It's All About SHOWING UP

SHOWING UP whether on line or in person is like a treasure map you never know what treasure you will find.  Many times we have an event to go to, we are tired,too much to do and try and talk ourselves out of it, or even working on the social networks on line we try and tell ourselves we don't have time ,too much to do and yet when we do it great things happen, we meet that person we have been wanting to meet, we hear about a business lead, we make new friends and we allow more people to learn about who we are and what our business is about.  I thought it would be great for people to share their Positive Show Up stories and so we can all start to see the power of SHOWING UP as well as the Power of ASKING so share those stories as well.

I have hundreds of stories of these two concepts many that have happend to me and many that people have shared with me, but I will start with sharing a story that recently happend to me.

I was in Palm Springs, CA.,  a few months ago attending the Amazing Woman's Day 2008 and a bunch of us were crashing at a Condo a friend loaned me. On the last night after the conference we were sitting around talking and sharing thoughts and I said "March is my birthday and I wish I could go to Italy"  another gal there June said, " me too I love Italian Men" Then one of the gals there Rene said "As you know I am from Europe (Portugal) but have friends in Tuscany let me see what I can do",, and others in the room said  "wow that would be great I want to go too". 

Well a few days later she called me and said "Robbie its all arranged I have been given a free Villa in Tuscany for 25 women and I have found an airfare and also a cook and the whole trip for one week is $800.00 which includes the air, Villa and Cook",Wow we were so excited and I sent out an email to friends and in two days the Villa was filled and others in my network and circle of friends wanted to go, so she again said "let me see what I can do". A few days later she called me  and said "we have the second Villa its not free but still the price for the trip is great only 1250.00 which includes the air, lodging and a cook and its 1/2 mile from the first Villa and will hold 25". We again sent it out and that Villa is also almost full. I think we have three spaces left.  Whats exciting is all the women going are dynamic and they are so excited. Recently I did a webnair for WITI (Women in Technology) on the Power is in the Asking and I used this as an example  of Asking, and there were 40 women from across the country on the call and one that is in the midwest called me the next day to say how much she enjoyed the call but also that she wanted to go to Tuscany with us. So she is going and will be meeting us in New York as we will change plans there along with another Women I met from DC who is with GEICO in Maryland. I met her at the WITI Conference in Santa Clara right after we put the trip together.  I have also started using my social networks ecademy and Linkedin and are making connections with people in Tuscany who we will meet while we are there. One of the gals going also told us she had a friend who had a friend that handles the VIP tours for the Vatican and can get us in without waiting so that was another great find.

So you see how powerful this ASK and SHOWING UP thing can be. This group can also be a place were we can connect each other with people we want to meet or knowlege we need to learn,  or help to spread the word about businesses and people.

Remember we want only positive things in the posts as staying positive lets you soar faster to greater success. I always tell everyone when reading the news and/or looking at TV or hearing the radio, remember you cannot change what is happening or happened but listen for opportunities as they are there and people call me and tell me since they started using that thinking the opportunities just jump out at them.  Remember we cannot change what has happened but we can create opportunities not only for others and ourselves as well.  So please join this group as together we can do more.
