A Leader must always see the big picture for self development.

1. Knowledge is King. You must constantly read and acquire knowledge involving your industry and trends in that industry.

2. Acquire the skills to get you there, whatever those goals are.

3. Develop a plan based on solid research and best practices where applicable.

4. Act! The best plans are just that. If they are not acted upon, you will get nowhere. Think of how many inventors did not receive the credit of being first because they did not act on the patent application.

Regardless of the aforementioned points, you must have a desire to do well or achieve.
