Leadership 101: What Your Body Language Says

Your mouth may be saying one thing but your body may saying or even shouting something entirely different. Take Confidence for an example. You say you are confident but here are some examples of body language that say you are NOT!

1. A Weak Handshake

2. Poor Eye Contact: Look the person dead in the eye to whom you are speaking.

3. Poor Posture or Slouching: Confident people usually walk or sit with a very erect posture. When sitting, either sit with your back straight or slightly leaning forward to convey both confidence and interest.

4. Covering your mouth when you speak. Use your hand to help you convey your message. However, don't ovver use your hand like someone uses a puppet. This is both distracting and annoying.

5. Nervous tapping of the fingers or feet can convey lack of confidence and again is distracting and annoying.

Need to learn!

Thanks, Orville, have taken some of these tips to heart. It does make an amazing impression on me when I notice how people produce themselves and I often have problems in this direction myself. Sometimes the burdens of life weigh one down and these points get lost or forgotten. Good to be reminded again..... so, chin up, every person has great value for who they are and should let it be
seen.

Greetings

Nanette
