Can I Mentor You for Free?
Group: Better Networker Motivation GroupRight now, I'm stuck with the best way to get the word out to all the people joining BetterNetworker about how to use it to their best advantage.
Quite apart from the damage being done to the reputation of BetterNetworker is the damage they're doing to themselves. And then they'll wonder why, yet again, they've failed to turn their business around.
It's so disheartening to see these people, all fired up, all wanting to get ahead, all struggling and trying the best way they know how to get themselves positioned in front of the biggest crowd of network marketers in one place.
But by posting up crap and trying to pass it off as an 'article', all they are doing is guaranteeing that nobody is going to bother reading their next article.
I'm seeing so many articles being posted, sometimes 3 or 4 in one day by the same person. Yet that person isn't taking part in forum discussions. That person isn't contributing in groups. That person isn't 'networking'!
And I'm not singling out any individual person here. I'm just at a loss as to how to turn this around? Ferny already wrote the most amazing article on this very subject. (If you haven't seen it go check it out here.) And yet it's still happening.
How do we get this out? How do we teach people to 'network' as opposed to posting crap so they can get a bit of Internet real estate?
I'm sure the 'points' system was introduced with the best of intentions and is meant to encourage good, quality content and active involvement. But right now, all I see is a load of rubbish being posted, a lot of points being earned, and a lot of potential leaders drowning in their own garbage!
Okay, that's my rant over. Sorry! (Lisa, feel free to edit this out if you want).
So, how do we change it around?
My first reaction is just to go and delete all offending 'crap'. If your so called 'articles' keep getting deleted then maybe you'll get the message and start writing useful, quality content?
However, I figured it may be more worthwhile to offer some free advice, on a personal level rather than in the forums and via articles. Maybe you're too shy to ask for help? Maybe you don't want to admit in public that you're not yet 'the leader' you're proclaiming to be?
If you're new to this community and wanting to make it work for you as it has for hundreds of others (myself included), then shoot me a pm and I'll get back to you.
Please only get in touch if you're serious about this. I don't have time to work with a lot of people all at once, and I'm not going to waste my time on folks who think maybe I'll 'do the doing' for them. I won't!
But this community has done so much for me. And now it's time to step up and give back.
Susan

I understand Susan
Sadly I’ve seen some of what you’re writing about. Yet is it our place to police this site? Please don’t take this the wrong way at all because it may not sound as bad as it might at first. Allow me to explain.
People like this are going to be here and there … With that said, we can work this to our advantage as well.
I’m not sure if you or I can help them. It’s ultimately up to them to leave the typical sales person junk at the door and to “learn” why betternetworker.com is in place.
Have they gone over the very basics? Magnetic Sponsoring course? Obviously not.
Can you make them do that? Nope.
Should you invest your energy into people who can’t even pick up the simple course Mike offers? I wouldn’t and I especially won’t reach out to them when they are being ignorant and too assuming.
I’m not a psychologist … I’m an Internet marketer with an entrepreneurial spirit.
The first thing I’d tell them if I were going to spend the time is “Go get the book that most of us have. It’s called Magnetic Sponsoring and after you read this, come back here and read what you’ve posted, you are going to be embarrassed about your behavior here.”
Now we can benefit because like you Susan, I’m serious about what I do and we are noticed for our value, not our sales pitch. I do it for free for the most part and the rewards are to see those “ah-ha” moments your downline or team member gets “after” they’ve implemented what they’ve learned.
My advice is to ignore it and let Mike and his team, deal with it. They are way beyond even responding to crap like this. They have better and more important things to focus on – as you do. They can “nuke” things like this with a click of a mouse. So as hard as it is sometimes to NOT post back to people like this, it’s much better for you and I to just go about our own business – to improve ourselves and feel remotely bad for a nanosecond for those who are really only embarrassing themselves.
I hope that helps and please don’t take this as I’m being harsh. Just honest with ya!
Thanks Lisa
And no, I don't think you're being harsh.
Having an open community like this is a two edged sword. And right now so many people are flailing it about that themselves and others are going to get hurt.
You're right on not responding to the crap. And I don't give credence to rubbish by commenting on it.
But, will people take the time to search through all the 'articles' to find those that are truly valuable and able to help them? Will they sign up to groups like this and participate in the discussions? Will they offer their input in the forums and actually 'network' with the other members of this community?
Maybe when they see their articles aren't being read and aren't getting them the results they hoped for, they will see the light and stop posting them. But will they stay here, will they learn the value of Magnetic Sponsoring and invest in themselves? Or will they simply move on to somewhere else and begin the whole useless process all over again?
If there's a potential leader out there, I want them here. I want them in this community because at some point I want to work with them and leverage their leadership (just as I did yours. :)).
Susan
I see now
I see your point now.
People like this don't have a lot of motivation to sustain what they are trying to do. This is just from what I've seen. They tire themselves out pretty quick.
I do get your point too about a lot of nothing to find a few golden nuggets. Meaning crap pitchy articles to find one of value. Kind of makes us a needle in a hay stack eventually. However I don't see Mike letting it go that far.
This is his empire and I have a feeling he'll arm it more when he gets back.
I do agree with you too Susan how people like this drive people like us nuts. I don't look at them as competition at all, but clutter - hence your concern about too much crap vs. value and weeding through to find it.
Yes - leaders need to be attracted to BN and come share, learn and teach here too. I just can't see Mike letting it get to a point where this place becomes junk. He'd lose a lot of folks that are truly valuable and I just can't see him letting that go.
Leaders are in here ... let's just keep doing what we're doing and lead with action. The upcoming leaders should follow too.
We just keep doing this together and the rest will fizzle out is my opinion.
Also, thanks for allowing me to be honest too. It's nice to share like this Susan! It's a great way to learn because I may see things one way - you see them different and it may open our eyes together on many things!
Congrats to us! :)

Now that I got back into the forums (last time I only cleared my cache, NOT cookies - where is my head anymore LOL) I posted about this subject in a way.
Go add your story and let's see what happens with it. My hope is it will open some minds.
