Tip For Those Just Starting Out
Group: Better Networker Newbies GuideWhen you are just starting out in the world of internet marketing you can be tempted to think its all too much and you won't ever really do much.
Then as you learn a little more and the light starts to go on you think you might puddle away with it as a hobby on the side.
Before you know it you are a guru (yes hard as it may seem to believe when you are just starting) or at least almost full time - as many hours of the night as you can stay awake anyway :)
That's just the way it is - unless of course you quit. But knowing that none of you reading this are in the quitting category, we will assume it is going to happen.
The TIP for you is this:
All though you are just sticking your foot in the water and dabbling at the moment, you need to plan as if you are running a multi national corporation!
By this I mean have good systems in place.
- Keep a dairy of where you are going online [and the passwords you use to get there!]
- Record things that work, and things that don't. You will find "opportunities" and e-books are like spam emails - the same ones keep doing the circuit every 6 - 12 months [even if they have a different title].
- Organize your desktop folders as if you going to have hundreds of folders - because you soon will. Believe me its easier to do when you are just starting than it is 6 months down the road. [Don't fill up your desktop and then stick everything in a folder called Desktop stuff which goes inside the last folder called Desktop stuff which goes inside .... Not that I speaking from experience- doh!]
- Keep a record of what you spend and what you make as well. Both figures can be surprising when you sit down and add them up. I like to keep tabs on the incoming to remind myself of why I am pouring so much into the outgoing lol.
Remember you have been warned.
(P.S. Susan goes around checking hard drives to make sure you have them in order, so do your homework!)

Very Good Advice
If I could have read this a long time ago I would be a lot more of a guru than I am now. But things happen for a reason. We are not all suposed to become superstars on our first attempt.

Great Advice at the Start...
Hey Dean: that is some great advice, especially for someone just starting out, like me. I will take it to heart and do what you have said to do and be forewarned. Better to be over prepared than to be sorry later on. Thanks for the post.

Learning By Other Peoples Mistakes Is Much Easier.
Cynthia and James - I am sure most of us never make it on the first attempt.
Patricia - You won't regret it. Good luck on your journey.
It Is Overwhelming.
Dean,
I like the part about the folders...
"as if you going to have hundreds of folders - because you soon will".

Organized? Me?!!!
Your tips on keeping organized are just what I need to hear right now. As business starts to pick up I can see that this is going to be really important very soon.
I too started out "dabbling" with Network Marketing. I almost quit but when I saw how many people were successful I knew I had to figure out how they did it.
Thanks for adding to the information that will help me continue!

Easy Money Online
Hi Sandy,
Internet marketing is a funny journey. You start out thinking it will be easy to make millions online - because thats what all the e-books they are selling say.
You then end up out of pocket thinking its impossible to make money online despite what all the spam says.
But if you keep at it until you find something that works for you, you begin to see again that it is possible to make money online. And it is easy - its figuring out the how to that can be hard.
Good luck,
Dean.
