CTWT - a Personal Story

Group: Changing The World 2gether

Every member of the CTWT team will have their own story to tell, what attracted them to the team, what businesses they had been involved with before, and how being part of the team has made a difference for them. There will be a different story for every individual in the team; this one is mine...

Having spent some time looking at this new hybrid of MLM and the Internet, I have to admit, I didn't get it. People were involved in programs where domain names were being sold for the same cost that I was/am selling full-featured web hosting packages, people seemed to be trying to make a personal fortune from eBooks, and every "this system does it all for you" advert seemed to lead to a program where you made money selling the same program.

In short, the "pyramid" reputation that MLM had built up in the offline world, now appeared to amplified in the online world, and now looking tackier than ever. Let me say at this point, I was wrong, but there IS a lesson to be learned from that "fresh eyes" perspective.

So by this point I had pretty much decided to start building something myself, something that would allow ordinary, everyday people to tap into what I still believed was a powerful combination of MLM and the Internet. I started to drum up interest among people I had met via Yuwie and SpiderWeb, and even started to build a site and some landing pages. That's when something amazing happened.

One of the people I had been in contact with sent me an invite to a ning group. I was literally on that site for less than 30 seconds by the time I had decided to be a part of the team. Here was a group that had been founded by a guy with great vision and passion (Rick), and with a team who had gone further down the track with ideas similar to my own.

I knew what needed to be done - I immediately stopped work on my own sites, and threw myself into CTWT heart and soul. In the time since I joined, it has been an absolute joy to see how the team has evolved, and the way team members literally grow before everyone's eyes. This is a team where people join, and then appear to experience a gradual change in their mindset, confidence and attitude.

How does this happen? It's simple really - we are all pulling in the same direction, and each one of us contributes skills and time, allowing our business to grow, but also allowing team members to witness and experience different techniques and tricks. The whole is definitely greater than the sum of the parts, and the CTWT team itself is, to my mind, something of a leadership incubator.

Is CTWT a silver bullet? Not at all, individuals still need to work after all, but it's the way those efforts are blended together that makes a real difference.

So my eternal thanks to Rick for starting this, and I look forward to playing my part in helping so many people achieve their goals.
