Here's something for everyone to ponder: there is always debate on whether the Bible was written by God or if it was written by man; whether the Bible is the Word of God or if it's just a history book.  What are your thoughts?

Who wrote the Bible? God!

Paul this is of course a question that many people have argued over for centuries.  I believe that God wrote the Bible.  When I read it I feel his inspiration and that is why it is the Living Word of God.

Good Luck and God Bless You,

Is the Bible the word of God

Yes the bible is the word of God for sure.   I am about to start writing my own E-book about Jesus, however, without wanting to offend other religious ideas and belief systems in this site I do not want to go into detail, but can be contacted on my email for any questions.

warm hello to all

Jesus Offends Everyone

My friend Anne: great news about your e book! It will be welcome! As far as offending other faiths, Jesus offended everyone in His path because He told them the truth. No one likes to hear the truth when they aren't following it. Ifa faced with the choice of offending with the truth and appeasing with less, I offend all I can. Not to offend mind you, but to tell the truth. Think where you and I would be now if Jesus let the unimportance of offending someone that didn't believe in Him dictate His message. He would never have told them they had to confess their sins and be saved from eternal Hell!

WE MUST TELL ALL OF THE PEOPLE All OF THE TRUTH ALL OF THE TIME! When judgment day comes and anyone not accepting Jesus is cast into Hell, we will be to blame if we didn't tell the truth to them. If we do, it is their fault if they don't accept it. We must be blameless and on fire no matter who we offend. The truth only hurts when it's not followed. Don't back down. Be strong and of good courage. Be ready in season and out of season. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life" "No man can come unto the Father but by me" He didn't leave any doubt that He is the ONLY way. No matter what Ophra Winfrey thinks, she was created by the same God we were, she just doesn't accept his truth. No one can unless we as saved children tell them the ONLY WAY!

Who wrote the Bible?

Yes, the Bible is the Word of God the Bible says:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Pe 1:21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

So, yes men wrote the Bible, but they were moved (inspired) by God.

God bless,

Jesus Offends Everyone

Mike and Crissy, you are so right in your post, and it is very refreshing to hear someone take a stand!

Rita Salcido — Sun, 10/12/2008 - 10:07am

???

It was nice knowing you all.  Jesus said that the it's the sick who need a doctor, not the well.  So it was nice knowing you guys. Soemthing told me not to join this room because I knew that the same would happen as always--people would want to counter-act everything that I say.  This is why I say that God knows my heart & will fend for me in heaven.

Jesus didn't have time to dispute over mere sayings, neither do I.  Peace love & more peace!!

Sorry Tiffany But Your Meaning Isn't Clear

Sorry you're leaving but I don't understand where anyone countered you here.  I see only one post by you to encourage the same person I encouraged.  No one else has mentioned you.  I don't get where you are coming from.  If someone challenged your beliefs then you need to show them where you are right, if you are basing it on scripture and not interpretation, then you can't be argued with.  The Word is The Word and that's that!

Who wrote the Bible

Rita Salcido, you took the words right off my keyboard, thanks. The scriptures are the source, we are the conduit.

Who Wrote the Bible?

Well, if you have no have in God, what can you have Faith in? Sciences were orginally created by the understanding of the biblical laws.

If science is your guide use your inquiring minds to research Panin. Maybe research Einstien's opinion of God the Universal Creator and why he removed himself from the science community.

BTW: Darwin was Preacher of the Gospel of Christ and his theories on Evolution of species is not what the academic system teaches buy and read a copy of the orginal text.

And Don't provoke me to get on my soapbox as I am a Spirit Filled Evangelical Long-Winded Old Time Pentecostal Preacher.

God definitely wrote the Bible

I know that God wrote the scriptures, it is the only living book! I don't know of any other book a person could study a lifetime and still learn new things. I remember the first time I read the Old Testament, God appeared to be very harsh, the second time through I could see God's mercy and provision for His people. Incredible stuff.

Networking

It has been defined that the Bible is the Word of God. I wonder if "networking" and "Christianity" compliment each other?

Being a Bible reader myself, I see many parallels. Perhaps there are more ideas on this. To start, the Gospels are filled with networking ideas. There are ideas of encouragement, of building up, of sharing tactics, or helping those that have fear, or have failed...

One needs "finger-touch" in networking, and this one can learn through this amazing Book.

Glad to hear some more thoughts.

Blessings

Blessed...

I'm so blessed to hear all of the answers on this site.  I know that God wrote the Bible, through people. The Bible didn't just appear in the hands of the people, but (as the Apostle Paul said to Timothy) ALL scripture, both the New Covenant and Old Covenant, is inspired by God.

What also blessed my socks off was the question Nanette had.  This question was one I thought about again and again, and was one of the reasons why I'm renewing my mind in my approach to sales.

If we would search the scriptures (from a network marketing standpoint,) we would see that Jesus was the master of that as well...just like He is in all things.  He didn't present his opportunity to his downline by stating "My Dad composed the greatest thing ever.  You'll go to heaven if you buy into this.  All it'll cost you is your life."  No, he played to each of the disciples' (His downline) strengths (Matt.4:18-20), taught them during his 3 year journey (which uplines don't do a lot these days), and told them all to go out, show the opportunity (the Gospel) and make more effective consultants (disciples).  That's why we still know about the Truths of God, the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and the other Scriptures.

Now I know, to some, placing Christ and network marketing in the same context may be deemed crude, but tell me where I'm wrong.  There's a lot we can learn about the techniques of Christ.

Paul Schmitz — Wed, 10/29/2008 - 10:17pm

Blessed....

I was also blessed to hear Nanette's comments on the parallels of "Christianity" and "networking".  I also have been wondering the same thing, but not able to articulate it as well as Paul Schmitz did.  I think where they parallel is relationship.  Jesus was deeply into relationship building.  Networking should be the same.  Notice I left out the marketing.  This word seems to make it a little "crude", possibly because the word "marketing" brings to my mind pushy salespeople who nobody likes.  Maybe someone can help me on this.  Also, the Bible says that

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

I think the key is how we feel about money, Do we LOVE it?  I would like to hear more thoughts on how you balance Christianity and networking.

God Bless,

Rita

Love of Money

Rita,

When Paul tells Timothy that "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil," he's definitely dealing with a heart issue about what we feel about it, not necessarily having an abundance of it.  It's been taught by people that if you're Christian, and you have a lot of money, then you love it, and you're going to hell.

That's a lie from the devil.

David and Soloman had a lot of money (some Bible scholars say that Solomon was worth over 1 trillion dollars.)  Abraham, Isacc, and Jacob had a lot of money.  Jesus (and I'll be getting feedback on this) had a lot of money, how do I know?  How many poor people have treasurers (Judas)?  How many people would give up a lucertive business to follow a poor man?  How many wealthy men would invite a poor man into their houses?  The Roman soliders thought of him as crazy man, and not actual the Son of God, so they're was no reason to cast lots for a crazy man's clothing, unless it was worth a lot.

These men didn't love money.  The man that spoke to Jesus about getting to Heaven (the rich young ruler) loved money.  Ananias and Sapphira loved money.  They loved money more than they loved their God.

That's the problem.  When we love, lust, and covet money, what we're saying is that money is our god.  We idolize the gift instead of give thanks to the Giver.  We think of it as our own, instead of just being a good steward over it.

Does that mean we shouldn't get nice things?  Well, do you think God wants His kids running around in rags, beat up cars, and trailers preaching His Good News?

A lot of the time, I'm scruitnized by the church I go to, so I know a little about this subject.  I have a pastor who has a million dollar house, dresses in expensives suits, and has nice cars.  To unknowing Christians, he loves money, and stuff, more than he loves God.  There's a few problems with that, though:

They don't know he gives more to the spreading of the gospel (percentage wise) than most people you or I know.  He spends tireless hours studying the Word, talking to people, pastors, and kings of countries about what they need to do to be everything God has called them to be.  Travels to places other people are too afraid to set foot into, because Jesus told us to "go into all the world."

Just remember that you are here on this earth to spread the gospel, through business, family, and every other walk in life.  We shouldn't work or network for the sake of having a lot of money, but work unto the Lord, knowing that when we things His way, money will flow like water.

Also, don't be ashamed when it does. :-)

I hoped that helped.

Love of Money

Paul, thanks so much...your reply was very helpful and well written. I can see how all things work together for good to those who love God...the scrutiny you are going through has caused you to read, study and meditate on the Word of God and in turn, you can share with others like myself on this subject. Thank you and God bless you.

Love of Money

Rita,

Thank you for the kind words and if you ever want to join me in making a lot of money, join me in my opportunity...

...I'm just kidding.  There were no hidden motives to what I wrote. :-)

Being at the kind of church I'm at, I'm not allowed to flippantly read the Bible, and hope no one takes me to task.  I assist in a small group with young adults, and a lot of them with special needs.  They have a lot of questions that we just don't think about, which use to tick me off, but I've seen it as a blessing, because now I'm forced to look for answers.  Just telling someone "because the Bible says so" doesn't hold water.

Anyway, I'm getting off my soapbox now.  Have a great weekend.

Networking and Money

You are right, Paul. I have a handful of kids and they want to have real answers, but more than that, they want to be assured that our actions and words are the same.

Many young folk, and older ones too, are having great stress in their jobs today. The going is hard. How great this would be if more Christians were in these positions in leading in a business with the attitude that we read of in the Bible. This would be a proof of how true the Bible is when one sees that which is written put into action. Actually, businessmen/women should be the "kings" of today, not only in their way to handle riches but also in their living out the true attributes of Christianity. I guess we have a greater responsibility than is realised.

Let us not forget what networking is for us. It is a business. Business people are needed in the world as never before. There are some groups who hold on to the wrong idea of "money" and "riches" but it was never said we should not be rich.

Christians should be business people with integrity, honesty, helpfulness, loyalty, wisdom and many attributes we find in the life of Jesus and taken further in the Epistles. Our money must go out to do what it is there for as Paul mentioned, and then it will come back 100 fold if it is rightly planted.

The Lord also had a business mind otherwise he would not have mentioned some of the parables he used e.g. the talents or the richman and his barns.

Rich "kings" are needed in the world today and businessmen/women are these "kings". With the right attitude to riches so much could be changed in the world.

Have a great Sunday...and Paul, having a group of young people to lead is such a gift and a gift for them to have you to lead them.

Greetings from Berlin

Nanette

I'm very pleased

I'm joyful to see God getting all the glory and attention here.  I see way too often that people are afraid to speak openly about God, for fear of how they will be taken.  Most are concerned with horizontal praise instead of that vertical praise, in other words most are worried more about pleasing MAN then pleasing the father.

I for one am a strong believer and I walk daily with Jesus, through our numerous conversations.  As far as, who wrote the bible it was answered perfectly earlier when someone mentioned that it's God's written word, the Truth and the Light.  He used man to convey his message onto paper, but that's it.

The bible is the foremost resource in regards to teaching us about Networking, Love, Financies and many other areas.  Part of being a christain to me is networking, not just with fellow believers but also with non believers.

Thank you all for allowing the oppurtunity to in part some of my thoughts here and I encourage all of you to continue to develop and nourish your Personal Relationship with the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Be Blessed

Michael
