A lesson learned about storing video's on hard drive.
Group: Creating Abundance Promoting YouHi everybody,
First, let me apologize for the cancellation of the show on September 5, 2008. After purchasing new digital broadcasting equipment to meet the new digital regulations to come into effect in February 2009. I experienced a unforeseen problem with disk drive space capacity. My computer as big and as powerful as it is taught me a lesson. On Friday, I learned some every essential lessons in broadcasting and wanted to share my lessons learned. With only two (1 hour shows) and one (intro video) recording backups my "C" hard drive was full with only 7 GB remaining. A 1 hour show was to big for the trash bin. Needless to say this caused major broadcasting problems for September 5th show. However, every new adventure we embark on in life produces a journey full of lessons learned.
- The first step we took to correct this problem was chopping the recordings into pieces to be able to delete them. One 1 hour show used 16.5 GB of storage.
- Second step was to defragment the computer drive. This step took hours.
- Final step was to add a Maxtor External Hard Drive of 500 GB to a USB port. Additionally, I will be adding 2 more external hard drives to the remaining USB ports to my computer.
Now, we are ready to Rock-N-Roll to create abundance for all. I thank you for understanding and support.
