I hear your struggle. There is definitly a skill to be learned when it comes ot network marketing. Does your company provide you with training? That is huge today when it comes to network marketing. Everyone has to learn a particular skill whether it is to be a plumber or doctor or whatever. Network marketing is no different. I have found that being open and coachble has been a great advantage for me. Being able to sucessfully recruit into your business requires a learned skill and a duplicatible system. Struggling

I completely understand where you are at with getting people to sign up.  Remember, MLM is a numbers game.  The more people that you introduce your product/company to, the better your chances of getting a sign up.  I have come to the conclusion that it is very rare for someone to listen to your proposal, and sign up immediately.  You have to be patient and keep contact with the people that you have talked to, because you never know what will change in their lives to make them decide that the time is right to join you.  I had a good friend of mine call me 5 years after they were introduced to our company and say that he needed to think about it again, and signed up 1 week later. 

Keep making your contacts, keep doing presentations, keep working your warm market, and try to find a way to branch out from your comfort zone.  This is not an industry for overnight success, it takes time.

Don't Give Up

What I've Learned

For the newbies, I'm Andrew Martinez and I too have bought the book from Mike Dillard and found some good stuff in it. I also downloaded the 91 page book from mentoring 4 free. Both of those have had a great impact on my thinking process, observations, and most importantly my attitude. It's all about continued education and learning about ourselves.

I totally sympathise with you my friend. I too am new to this aspect of network marketing, it was an effort of will for me to start to master the computer and get familiar with all those social sites. I too have just today downloaded the free ebook from mentoring for free. What I have read so far is astounding to say the least, I can already see where my thought processes are going to go through fundamental changes, to ensure my success. I do believe that it will help you too. Let no one steal your dream.

Thanks to everyone for all this advice. As newbie, I am encouraged and strengthened to master these new techniques and apply them in my business.

                 I hear you i was in the same boat when i got an email with "hi welcome to betternetworker you will find this ebook very helpful"......i thought what is this person trying to pitch to me and besides which i do to believe in myself,product etc etc...

 However after having clicked on the link to except the free ebook (I have nothing to lose and everything to gain) and reading it, it has a lot of useful information that i can utelise for my business (and it made me confirm even more so now that i am indeed in the right  mlm company!!!!!!) .

I do recommend free ebook "success in 10 steps"  it is clear,concise and opened my eyes to even more possibilitys.....enjoy.

It is interesting to me that you speifically mentioned the self promotion in your post and about half of the responses were either self promotions, advertisements or affiliate links. Guys, let's help her out with answers, not more stuff to buy/sign up for. She's obviously had enough, and we can provide value here without trying to make a buck.

Truth is, Jim nailed it on the head. MLM is a numbers game. If you haven't sponsored anyone in your business, then your message hasn't gotten out to enough people. The accepted statistic in MLM is something like 95% of people you speak with will NOT join your business. So, this means, you have to talk to 100 to get 5 signups...give or take.

Obviously this isn't a hard and fast number. For instance, you could talk to 100 people and get 0 signups, but after you talk to 1,000, you might have as many as 50!

Dan brought up MLM Lead System Pro of which I am also a member. This and Jonathan Budd's Mastermind System are great places to start in getting the necessary training for attraction marketing. You SHOULD check them out if you haven't.

But I think what you really need to hear is....Keep it up! Those systems are only as good as your own perseverance and work ethic. And they are NO magic bullet.

If you are providing value to your prospects, it will start paying off for you very soon. My recommendation is to set concrete and attainable goals for your business. Avoid something crazy like "I'm gonna sign up 57 people this month" or something ambiguous like, "I'm gonna advertise my business more". Check this out...

"I will sign up 3 prospects in the next 30 days." This is attainable and will give you that sense of accomplishment you need to press forward.

"I will launch my campaign on 4 new mediums to advertise my business within the next two weeks." This is measurable.

See the difference? Setting small executable and measurable goals is one of the most important tasks you can complete when trying to accomplish a larger objective. It helps things seem more manageable.
