I am currently using Mike Dillards, Magnetic Sponsoring and MLM Traffic. It is very precise and effective.

The name of the Game is Leads, leads, and more Leads. The more High Quality, Targeted prospects you expose your opportunity to the better.
There are NO better leads, than the leads you generate yourself through attraction marketing, from the methods taught in Magnetic Sponsoring and how to maximize your results with MLM Traffic Formula.
However, when first getting started generating your own leads, likely you'll have to supplement, with industry specific or geneology lists. Indsustry specific leads consist mostly of "opportunity seekers" and you'll have a lot of tire kickers, and people that just aren't right. However, they are great for getting the marbles out of your mouth, and getting good on the phone. The best course that I mandate anyone I work with gets is Black Belt Recruting, an absolute must have. You can have all the leads in the world, but without Black Belt Recruting tactics, you'll be wasting a lot of your time, and possibly sponsoring the wrong people.

It's okay to buy leads, but you should definately be self-branding and start attracting an endless supply of highly qualified and targeted leads to you.
Regardless of your lead source, your consistency, and skill in dealing with these leads is Key. So when your not chopping away at your leads, you need to be "sharpening" the blade through training.

I have found safelists to be pretty effective. Viralurl seem's to be one of the most
productive for generating leads. The secret here of course is to be a paid member.
Doing this allows you to email a random bunch of other members on there list.
Other safelists I have found useful is list auction and business world list
