A quick rant about personality.

Do arrogant people attract you?

I thought I'd post my views here since they attract little attention.

I recently had a run in with a person on BN because I dared to point out that he was spamming the forum.  To me an article disguised as a forum post is dubious at best, when it does not address the topic raised by the original post and contains 2 off site links it is, in my opinion, spam.

However, it appears that this is not the case.  At least not when the person who posts it is apparently "famous" with many influential friends and screeds of published material - not to mention has a long history of moderating on "reputable" forums (I wonder what this forum is if not reputable?).

When someone uses their success to intimidate and bully I find them boorish and certainly not a magnetic personality that I have any interest in following.  If being successful means I have to imitate that kind of person I will stick to mediocrity.

There are people on this site who are successful, or well on the way to being successful who model character traits that I admire.  These people are modest and unassuming, you will not know how successful they are until you engage them in conversation.  They are quick to help and expect little in return.  These people I am happy to call my friends.

Lucky there are such a range of personalities on this site and you are able to seek out the ones that work best for you.
