Social Networking, An Overview to The Right Approach
Group: Official Better Networker Blog ExchangeAre You in to Social Networking?
Looking for the best social networking site? There are a ton of social networking sites out there, some of the best ones include Twitter, Betternetworker and Facebook. Of course there exist a myriad of other sites like adult social networking, hosted sites, open source networks, build your own social networking site (ning.com) as well as a whole slew of networking applications, software and tools to help you along the way. But the best approach is always understanding the fundamentals.
Realize the potential
Social networking is at the forefront of this web 2.0 revolution and allow for rates of data transfer that were simply unfathomable a few years ago. Online, social networking is the best way to build relationships and grow your online presence. If you're trying to build a business or some sort of marketing system, social networking will be one of your top resources.
Problems with Social Networking?
The only problems with social networking sites are really just in the way you use them. You can treat them as a one-way classified ads list by spamming links, being impersonal and an overall jackass.

The Best Social Networks
This ultimately is just my opinion and certain social networks are better for some things than others. For example Myspace is very good at promoting your music and as well as building MLM systems. However, it is not good for personal relationship building as there are nearly 300,000,000 profiles there and nearly all of the 'business' profiles there are spam filled. On the other hand a site like Betternetworker is not great at scooping up MLM prospects, however it is an awesome place to meet like minded network marketers to form some mutually benefiting relationships with.
Twitter: This is a given right now. Because of its tremendous growth, potential for leveraging power, clean layout and easy to learn interface there is just nothing that can stack up next to Twitter. There are a couple 3rd party applications as well as some free sites that I highly recommend using. Some worth mentioning are Twhirl, Tweetdeck, Twollo and Tweetlater. Now you don't need these to get started but I highly recommend picking them up along the way. But aside from those, anyone can get started with Twitter really easily and very quickly. Be sure to stop by my blog on Twitter for beginners.
Betternetworker: Now if you've never heard of Betternetworker, you really should check it out. It was derived from MagneticSponsoring and the MS network and is now an amazing place where anyone can learn a new thing or two. It's a little more advanced than Twitter as you can create blogs, post articles, form groups, post on walls and participate in their forums.
