Hi.

Guess there isn't any posts in this group. I guess I can start it then.

The other day sent out an email to everyone on my list. All the networkers anyway. The subject was lead generation and ways to generate targeted leads and do some list building.

You see, many of the people on my list are local networkers and I'd met many of them at some local trade shows. We all know trade shows are not cheap. At all. I mean, the booth ran about $600 and then you gotta figure in the cost of samples and hand outs. The one expense I felt I needed to point out was the cost of their time. Some of them had been working a 4 day trade show that ran from 9am to 9pm. I had to ask myself..how much is their time worth. Put all those costs together and then match that to the number of leads they got. Not just leads..how many new people will they get for all that cost.

Trade shows are great for exposure. But we all know there are better ways to get exposure. Thats the leverage of the internet.

You see, I'm a Network Marketer that turned Internet Marketer several years ago. I know the type of exposure the internet can give you if you know how to do it. It can also give you greater exposure for next to nothing.

I say nothing because it will cost you. You need to invest time into learning how to do it. If you are willing to invest the time...the results can be had.

One of the best free sources of free exposure is Squidoo. It takes a little time to figure it out but once you get the hang of building a page(lens), you find they are easier and easier to create. The trick is, in my opinion, to have a mental picture of what you want the finished product to look like. You will continue to update it but have a good idea of what you want to to do, say and look like.

The advantage to using Squidoo for your marketing is that it indexes well on Google if you build it right. If you understand the value and importance of doing some keyword research ahead of time you will get some pretty good search engine rankings for the chosen keywords and phrases.

Here is my example. Just so you can see I am a product of what I say. One of my MLM companies has a patented product that is its cornerstone product. Its a glutathione accelerator.

What the heck is glutathione? Glad you asked. If you have someone in your life with Autism or Parkinsons, you may be familiar with glutathione. For people not familiar with glutathione I created an information lens to tell people what it is. This is the lens on Squidoo I created www.squidoo.com/discovering-glutathione.

Based on some research I decided I wanted to addresse "why do we need glutathione". Open up a new browser and search that term and look at the results page. Look at the results. At the writing of this entry my Squidoo lens is at the #2 position. Not bad for a free resource like Squidoo and a little bit of prep and research. Any idea what kind of exposure that can give to my page/product?

Still think shelling out hundreds of dollars for a trade show booth sounds good. Something else to consider about seach engine results. People that find me on google are LOOKING for that information and I'm there waiting to provide it.
