What is on your nightstand?

Group: The Book Club

Read More: Leadership  |  Personal Development

So, what are you reading right now? What is on your nighstand?

This group is supposed to be about books, so I thought it would be great to start with this question.

I generally have 3-4 books on my nightstand at any one time.

Currently:

Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay.

A random technical manual (this time, it's a book on WordPress).

Hi Melinda,I recently

Hi Melinda,

I recently finished reading "You'll See It When You Belive It" by Wayne Dyer.  Have you ever read that book?

My favorite chapters were 'synchronicity' and 'forgiveness.'

MFF and Napoleon Hill

Jon,

At Mentoring For Free we discuss the "Think and Grow Rich" every week.  This wednesday night we will dicuss chapter 2.  You could subscribe @ 30daycleanse.com.  This team call really helped detox my mind from negative chatter that I am exposed to at times.  Also hearing the wonderful feedback from the team members is very encouraging and inspiring.  Look forward to having you join us.  Talk Soon.

On My Nightstand...

Well, I just finished "God is my CEO" by Larry Julian.  It's a great book to learn how to focus more on principles and people rather than just the bottom line.  I'd highly recommend it for business owners or executives.

Currently, on my nightstand, I have The Maxwell Leadership Bible and I just started reading "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill.  I have the free eBook from Mentoring for Free, which has been great, and I can't wait until I get the copy I ordered from Amazon.  I'm not an eBook guy. :-)

Oh, by the way, if you buy a lot of books, here's a tip: go to Amazon.com, search for the book you want, and by them USED.  A lot of the books you are looking for are  in "good" to "like new" condition, and are discounted at a hugh price.  If you don't mind waiting a few days for them, I'd check this out.

I also have an alarm clock with a Cheesehead hat on top of it. :-)

My empty nightstand...

I do not read while in bed nor have a TV in the room. When my head hits the pillow I am normally asleep.

BUT to answer the intent of the question. I read a couple hours a day. Sometimes I get in an hour but often is it is in 15 minute chunks.  My current pile of books at my 'reading station' are the BibleCritical Path by R. Buckminster Fuller (3rd time through), Think and Grow Rich (4th time... This coming Thursday, 9pm eastern a number of us are beginning the first chapter and will take 17 weeks between now and the end of April to mastermind the book. There may be a few slots open as we can fit 24 in the room and it will be available for replay later. If you have any interest email me.) The Power of Leadership by Daniel and Debra Sweet is an interesting book. The 29% Solution by Ivan R. Misner, PHD is 52 weekly networking success stategies. Right and Reason by Austin Fagothey is ethics in theory and practice based on Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas. I just finished The Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale and will read it again once I finish the 'leadership book. I read Harmonic Wealth by James Arthur Ray earlier this year and I will absorb it again before years end.

Thank you for the question!

My nightstand overflowith!

Reading is like eating to me.  It feeds me and I can't get enough!  Some books I read over and over, some I read from cover to cover, some I leaf through for information that pertains to me or a client.  Here goes my current list:

The E Myth Revisited by: Michael E. Gerber

Start and Succeed in Multilevel Marketing by: Gregory Kishel and Patricia Kishel

The Power of Positive Thinking in Business by: Scott Ventrella

101 Ways to Promote Yourself by: Raleigh Pinskey

The Bible

The World is Flat

You Can Heal Your Life by: Louise Hay

Total Money Makeover by: Dave Ramsey

I can tell this is an awesome group already just by your reading selections!  I love Kiosayki, Dyer and N. Hill too.  Thanks for this post.

Louise Hay

Hi Sherri,

Noticed Louise Hay's material was part of your list. I have on of One Hour Conference recordings where she talks about how to receiving abundance. At the end, she also asks the audience to share their adversities and then she gives advice accordingly to the circumstances that some of the audience members share aloud. I could send you a copy if you'd like.

The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles

Hello Everyone,

I have recently been reading the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles.  Sooo many gold nuggets that every individual in pursuit of anything positive should read.  A copy of it is definitely going to be someone's stocking stuffer this Christmas.
