High glycemic foods cause the spike in blood sugar which is usually followed by a crash which leaves you tired and hungry! Low and medium glycemic index foods are more likely to slowly raise and then lower blood sugar, avoiding spikes and crashes.

Glycemic Index And Chocolate

I think it's important to pay attention to things like this for sure. I use a product called Tru Chocolate to lose weight . It's only a 7 on the Glycemic Index Scale!

Staying Healthy

I use Herbalife products which is a balanced nutrition program.  It helps me to maintain my weight and manage chronic fatigue.  My energy levels have improved dramatically which has allowed me to engage in more physical exercise - I actually feel like exercising. I can now go to work and go out at night, previously I have had to sleep after work just so that I have enough energy to get up and cook dinner.

Given that research shows that at least 70% of  illnesses and reasons for going to the doctor are diet related this program takes the guess work out of giving your body the nutrition it needs to stay healthy.

But it takes committment and someone to give the support you need to get started and keep going.  I am a highly motivated person and dedicate my time to helping people to set and achieve their personal goals. But in saying that I wasn't always, I lacked confidence and self esteem and am very grateful to those who have helped me through my own personal journey.  Now I enjoy sharing that knowledge in a compassionate, supportive way through counselling and motivating people to achieve their potential.

thanks for sharing

Lynee thank you for sharing your success.

I too have had remarkable lasting results on the Herbalife Shapework plan.

Going from a size 16/18 to a size 4/6 at the age of 57 was only a dream 2 years ago...but the most remarkable part of this has been the ease of maintenance.  I have stayed within 2 pounds of my goal weight now for over a year and gone thru 2 Christmas!...The protein /complex carb formulation in the shakes along with some walking has helped to build a body with lean muscle and fat burning efficiency.

We have started to use 'weight loss challenges' as a community service in our area to help others to reach similar goals & the rewards of helping people in this life changing endevour has been immense.

Wishing you continued success.

Healthy Lifestyle

I have strugled with this for years until I figured out the right foods.  After sitting down and looking at what foods I was consuming they all fit this category.  My blood sugar was a roller coaster.  I now eat a variety of foods and learned the combinations which is the key.  I follow also six basic rules of a healthy lifestyle and I have to have a form of accountability.

1.  Drink water

2.  Eat a variety of foods (#1 for nutritional balance)

3.  Eat on purpose

4.  Exercise

5.  Find unexpected opportunities

6.  Portion Control  (#1 Here for weightloss)
