Types of Breakfast - Which one is yours?

When you skip breakfast, blood sugar drops bellow normal level, you experience cravings and a drop of energy. You again revert to simple carbohydrates to achieve a quick surge of blood sugar and to overcome hunger and a drop of energy. Simple carbohydrates (sugar, white breads, toasts) and others (noodles, rice, beans…) cause an immediate raise of blood sugar level which results in a substantial emission of insulin. The insulin removes sugar from blood turning its excess into fat. The result is a decreased level of blood sugar, and thirst for more carbs. This cycle repeats itself 2, 3 or more times during the day. This vicious circle constitutes one of the major reasons for diabetes, high blood pressure and extra weight.

In the morning, simple carbohydrates (sugar, white breads, toasts) and others (noodles, rice, beans…) cause an immediate raise of blood sugar level which results in a substantial emission of insulin.

Such a breakfast supplies our body with all vital nutrients and energy without increasing blood sugar and insulin levels. It helps to avoid dependence on carbs during the day. In this way, appetite stays under control, cravings for carbs (snacks, soft drinks, cookies …) diminish and the body uses its own stored fats to get more energy.

So what is the best food to consume for breakfast?

jamie Thompson — Fri, 03/20/2009 - 12:45am

healthy breakfast

why breakfast?

ans when we sleep the longest break is during the night.

according to the research it has been noted having breakfast is the right solution.

but next is what kind of breakfast is required?

all of us know that cells are repaired and body need cellular nutrtion.

they we must understand that protein based isolated nutrtional break fast is very healthy to take because once we have then we come out of the vicious circle craving for carbohydrates and hence  we get into a helathy food habity there by keeping the sedantrylifestyle disease at bay.

So i  feel to keep good health we have to take  a very  good balanced breakfat to keep ourselves in good health and balance nutrtional meal supplements are very very important

Ah Breakfast!

I used to say the only reason I got through high school was breakfast. I'd get up in the morning just to eat a good sized breakfast and figured while I was up I should go to school.

Breakfast should be eaten within an hour of rising and should include a balance of protein, carbs (from non-white sources - veggies, fruits) and fats. The balance ratio should be based upon your metabolic make-up, how your body processes food.

When we eat a high carb breakfast - pancakes with syrup, processed cereal, breads, muffins, donuts, hash browns - we spike an insulin response and the sugar craving cycle.

Eat fresh, raw, natural as much as possible. It's what you body likes.

breakfast

I could not agree more... there are so many pieces to the puzzle of weight loss and maintenance but I would have to rate the lean protein and complex carb breakfast as one of the top of the list!  I went down from a size 16/18 to a size 4/6 in 8 months and have maintained this for a full year and 4 months and this was one of the key changes I made!

Nothing like keeping the blood sugar level & alleviate the spiking and crashing...meals and snacks that have this basic common sense combo (and some healthy omega 3)...the three macronutirents are really magic when it comes to insulin and blood sugar levels.

what is the best food for breakfast

Jamie
I personally take a Herbalife Smoothie made with a Meal Replacement powder, 1 1/2 cups skim milk, a cup of berries or fruit, 2 tsp of fiber, & 2 tbsp personalized protein powder. I blend this up and enjoy it with a straw daily. It starts me off with 30 grams of high quality protein a score of 1.0 meaning it is 100% absorbable and just the right amount of vitamins, minerals, and complex carbs. To get the good quality fats (omega 3) I take an omega 3 fish supplement.

When I am not in a situation where I can have my smoothie like I was the last few days I had 2 scrambled eggs (on weight loss I would have had the egg whites only), 1-2 slices of sprouted grain toast very high in both fiber and protein (Silver Hills), some berries & a slice of low fat turkey & low fat cheese slice.

I have never eaten better...all my meals have this combo of protein and complex carbs (veggies, fruit, high quality grains)& a good fat.

The smoothie/shake I took for both breakfast and lunch to go down to a size 4/6 and lose 45 pounds. It was the best thing I ever did as it was so easy to follow and it was so satifying. So many people do not get an adequate amount of lean low calorie protein and are always hungry. The other advantage to protein is that you build lean body muscle when you get an adequate amount of protein...muscle burns 5 times the calories that fat does!

There are only 2 ways to build lean body muscle...exercise and adequate protein intake...I once read 'we are not over fat we are under muscled in America'.

I have found this to be revolutionary for my weight loss and maintenance.

The days of yoyo dieting and starving to lose weight are over.

To a great weekend!
