Marketing Idea for Busy People

OK here's an idea for busy people (and it's actually one that I have already posted in the "Access FREE Resources" Group, but thought would be particularly useful here - especially if you don't also belong to that group and may never see the posting!):  In our personal and business life we all send out emails (not spamming, of course) but if we really want to impress someone (and maybe have a marketing edge), what about sending an E-Card?

They are quick (not like the postal system); pretty and eye-catching (making the message stick out more easily than just another email) and they don't cost you  (unlike sending out letterheads or cards). I can't guarantee they will answer all your problems, of course, and I don't know if they may even cause a few (some people may not be able to open them because of firewall and other filters perhaps) so I make no promises, BUT I found a site: http://www.unlimitedfreecards.com/ which offers 100% FREE e-cards and boasts no registration required/ no spyware or adware.

Now to be honest, I have not actually used this particular service (Yet!) so if YOU are the first to use it please post a comment here to let the rest of us know what it's like - BUT I have used e-cards in the past for personal use (like if I missed someone's birthday and knew the paper card would not arrive on time in the postal system). And they were delighted!  I was too, when I saw how good they look. But maybe if you could pick a really nice design, it might make a good follow-up to a sales call or promotion that you are making. Just an idea ....

And for busy work at home moms and dads, they are also useful when you know you have forgotten the thank you card or party invitations etc for your family and haven't got the time or ability to just "pop out" to get one quickly (ie specially not with getting baby washed, dressed/ changed and into the buggy which can sometimes take up to an hour (!)  and then travel to the store - and try to keep junior amused whilst you pick a suitable card, then you have to get back (and feed baby) before writing the card and finding you have no stamps    etc. etc.   So, in just a few minutes you could have chosen your e-card and sent it off without even disturbing baby from sleep.  Ahh, the beauty of the internet!  Downside?  Maybe you like the break from your computer for a while; maybe baby needs some fresh air and you are incorporating this into the walk to the store. But think of the petrol (gas) you will save into the bargain if you are miles from a store right now!

Used the idea for sending

Used the idea for sending e-cards and got such great responses for the thoughtfulness.  In some cases afte I meet someone in person, I will send them a handwritten note!  One of my friends makes beautiful homemade cards and they are a HUGE hit!  It's obvious the cards take time to put together and it's just another sign of taking time, taking care and being thoughtful!  Keep the great ideas coming!
