About Me

I'm a native of Denver Co., the oldest in a family of 10, with 5 brothers and 2 sisters. I attended a Catholic Grade School and graduated from a Public High School. A year out of High School I Joined the Navy and qualified for, and was educated in, communications and radar electronics. I started my undergraduate work part time at night in my last 3 years of duty with the Navy.

In 1978 I graduated with a BSET, moved back to Denver, started a career as a Medical Electronics Service Engineer, married my wife and soul mate for the last 30 years, Roberta, and was honorably discharged from the US Navy after 10 years of service. It was a very busy year.

My wife and I have been blessed with 3 daughters; Amanda, Katie, Elizabeth, and 2 grandsons, Anthony and Timothy. My two oldest daughters are married and my youngest daughter, Elizabeth works in a health food store and is going to Gene Juarez Academy full time.

In May of 2006 I was laid off for the second time in my 28 year career as Medical Electronics Service Engineer. At 58 years young, I found myself in the position of starting from scratch and retraining for entry level positions. I decided that it was time for me to start a new adventure and own my own life for a change.

I spent some time at first learning stock market trading and investing. It was very fastinating to me, and I was doing OK, but decided after 8 months that I needed much more time and money in order to make a living at it.

Next, I naively set out to find a way to make money on the internet, armed with very little business and no real marketing education. I researched and tried several opportunities including surveys, blogging, advertising, affiliate marketing, direct sales and MLMs. Just finding a suitable business model with a credible pay plan can be a daunting task and quite the education if you can understand it all. I spent way too much time and money over the last 2.5 years failing forward.

It is amazing how many opportunities are available, and how few are really credible or provive sufficient training for the newbie to get started. Many of the better opportunities available are still trying to duplicate their down lines with old school, offline interruption marketing principles, such as creating and contacting warm market lists of acquaintances, friends, and family; cold calling from lead purchases; and networking anywhere, anytime, with anyone that is within 3 feet (arms distance) or line of site to you.

Trying to talk with folks about your business opportunity, who have not expressed an interest in, or are not actively searching for an opportunity is uncomfortable at best.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon Ann Sieg’s free eBook, The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing and later purchased her eBook, The Renegade Network Marketer. Her material immediately resonated with me. I am convince that some form of Internet Attraction Marketing combined with Network Marketing and Affiliate Marketing for monetization along with the Consultative Approach to sales will be the new paradigm for 21st Century Marketing.

I am now working to build a business with my own Unique Selling Proposition, Attraction Marketing, and the Consultative Approach to Selling.

To Our Success in the New Year!

Hi Timothy I truly appreciate your friendship. I'm here if you need any free help. You don't need to spend money to master skills and you don't have to change who you are to be successful. I appreciate you, Daniela Riess

Hi Timothy, and welcome to BetterNetworker, many people find this site very useful. For me, I am always pleased to meet people with the same mindset! Many people in network marketing have lost money, and most people don’t make what they dream about. Have you ever wonder why one person succeeds and another fails in MLM? The reality is that 97% of those who start an MLM business will not succeed. The foundation for long-term success was missing.
