The road to success is not straight. There is a curb called Failure, a loop called Confusion; speed bumps called Friends; red lights called Enemies; caution lights called Family. You will have flats called jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination; an engine called Perseverance; insurance called Faith, and a...driver called Vision, you will make it to a place called Success!!

A little bit ABOUT ME
While growing up I have changed, my view of life, my way of doing things, my goals and my expectations.
The benefit I gained from my lifetime of knowledge, although too too late, was to learn from my mistakes, and I did try not do it again.
Examples:
My school years As a youngster I was not a guy that read books, well I do have to be truthful and tell you that I did read one book. My English teacher gave me a class books to read, it was Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (a few million pages long). It took me the entire 3 years of literature classes to GET the concept of actually reading the book and answering the questions correctly (this was not the perfect time for self improvement or learning from my mistakes) rather than WRITE out the book 15 pages at a time for punishment. You could say that I (Alan de Klerk) wrote Great Expectations but I didn’t publish it as some one thought of that idea before I wrote the book.
My work years I was one of those many school leavers who had no idea what I wanted to be( big mistake, at least have something to work towards BEFORE leaving school ). My first desire was to be a pilot so I could fly all over the world. After school I applied for a few different types of employment, and the one I actually got was an apprenticeship for Fitter and Turner. I loved it. I didn’t know I could work so well with my hands.
I left jobs and started others, and left those and started others, BUT the most interesting thing comes when I sort of stopped working with my hands only( this doesn't mean I didn't think about what I was doing) and now included my head (brain). This was when I had the opportunity to learn CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided machining). As an employed tradesman I thought I was pretty good at my job, was comfortable with where I was, what I was doing and had no REAL goals in life (another lesson, HAVE GOALS and go after them).
Now, why I say that is another lesson learned is because when I took the chance to start my own Homebased Business with the knowledge of CADCAM I had learnt, I came up quite short in a lot of areas.
I could have applied myself and learnt ALL I could instead of being comfortable.
I now had a different outlook of my skills box. (Again a bit late to apply myself) I thought I knew a lot when it came to the use of CAM software , and I thought I knew a lot when it came to CAD software until I bought my own package, it seemed like a complete change in direction as to what I was used to, a completely new learning curve . Although it was still the same line of work I was now using different tools.
Did I get through it? Yes. (Self improvement)
How, I learned the basics that would get me started and the rest would come with time.
Why, I HAD to.
Always when it is forced upon you to improve yourself, you have no other way out, your back is against the wall. You FINALLY get it. (All lessons learnt?)
Well, no my lessons are not over I guess as I am now enjoying the internet marketing business and have many more years with lots of self improvement to come.
