About Me

I always hate this part of creating profiles, hence why it was not done earlier.  But, I will give it a go here, so that you all can get to know me a little bit better and just what makes me tick.

I love an adventure and doing anything out of the ordinary.  I grew up with boys, played sports with boys, and so I guess that's why few things really scare me in life.  I've always had to prove myself and take chances to show that I was worthy of being a part of their 'boy clique' growing up.  So, when after University I moved to S.Korea to teach ESL for 3 years, it really didn't seem like such a big deal.  However, now looking back on it, I realize that it was.  So few people in life are able to just pick up and move to the other side of the world, that speaks a foreign language no less.  But, I have an affinity for adventure and travel and I'd have to say that was probably one of the coolest life experiences I've ever had.  Getting to live and interact with the locals on a daily basis and learn about their culture and their way of life was an eye-opening experience and one that I will cherish forever.  Not only that, but I was able to do things and see things that many others aren't as fortunate to have the opportunity to experience.  Things like, motorcycle trips through the mountains and over to islands of the coast of S.Korea, or visiting budhist temples with the locals.  These are experiences that have taught me about life and just what it has to offer outside of my comfort zone.

Part of my journey across the world was also inspired by the fact that I really didn't know what I wanted to 'be'.  I've thought of a thousand and one different professions that I would like to go into.  Each of them interesting, and I really do believe that I would have excelled in all of them, however, none of them really were able to occupy my attention for longer than a month or two at the most.  So, I guess I'd been searching for the career that not only suited my personality, but also inspired me to reach my full potential.  I think that mentality frustrated those around me because everyone would consistently tell  me to just hurry up and pick something already, but I'm a scorpio and don't like to be told what to do.  So, you know how that worked out.  But anyway, I knew that when the day came that I found something that was a perfect fit for me, I would just know. You see for me, and I'm sure many of you in this forum, are doing this because you love everything this profession encompasses, from the relationship building, to the financial freedom, to the independence.  That is what I was always searching for, something that I could be so passionate about that it didn't even feel like work because I truly believed in what I was doing.  And it wasn't until I met my present boss, that I began to see the light.  He introduced me to the online marketing world and since then, I just can't get enough of it.  I find everything about it utterly fascinating.  Which brings me to my current place...on this forum and networking with other likeminded individuals.

I finally feel that I have been presented with the opportunity of a lifetime, one of those rare opportunities to really change a person's life.  It is something that I truly believe in and so for me I'm not selling, I'm showing....I know it can change people's lives, but only for the people who choose to see it.  They say that those who are openminded are the ones who do not miss out on great opportunities and I couldn't agree more.  You have to be able to look beyond what it is that you are familiar with to see just what else exists out there.  I am a free spirit and I will never close doors before having given it a chance to prove to me that it is worth my while....

So what do I like to do for fun?  Well, a number of things, one being travel which I sort of touched on earlier.  I've been to Paris, Barcelona, Japan - Tokyo, Fukouka, Hong Kong, Thailand - Bangkok, Koh Samui, and the other islands.  If I could travel the world for the rest of my life I would do it in a heart beat!  I am also very active. I grew up with two older brothers so everything was always a competition.  I guess that's why I enjoy playing sports so much.  I used to play basketball quite a bit, I actually played on my University team during my last year, but have since picked up other sports.  I love to play ball and ice hockey, golf, baseball...basically if its a sport, I'll play it.  But, my true passion is health and fitness.  I'm not a slave to the gym, but I love to go and liftweights.  I feel like when I'm there I can release all of my tension and replace it with positive energy that'll take me through the day.  I think it's important for everyone to find that thing that makes them feel better about themselves..because let's face it, we all have our bad days, but when you're in that low, it's important to have that pick-me-up to get you going again.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks for reading, and I look forward to getting to know you all and helping one another achieve our dreams.

To your success..whatever that may be,

A.

Amy, I have found a new passion here on BN. I have Twitter, Direct Matches, Facebook and other social marketing sites but this is where things are happening. You will get an idea about what I have done. If you take a look at my profile, you can see in my pictures some of the sites I have been to these past few years. Walt Disney mimicked the blue castle (Burg Elles). It is one of four castles that never had to be constructed in Germany. My goal is to help others in ways I wish I had when I got started. Hey Amy Thanks for accepting my connect and welcome to Better Networker. Yeah we are many of us networkers looking to improve our lifestyles and also support others in their dreams and success. Mentoring for Free has been very helpful for me to get focussed and make progress in one direction. Until then I was online each day but going in circles. This is certainly not something to be done in isolation. Being in a support group is so much more fun and also more productive. All the best to you. Rachel Cormier Mission BC Canada
