In The Beginning There Was Stupidity!

I started marketing online about 2005 I think maybe a little sooner.  I had done some MLM with various companies that I began to join around 1996 but I never could do any good with them.  After my divorce in 1996 I remarried in 2001. It was at that time that I started out with this Grand idea of developing my own website that would teach others on how to market through the traffic exchanges.  I had gotten hooked up with the traffic exchanges while trying to promote my very first website selling jewelry online.  I had taken classes and a course and thought to myself I can do this myself.  So off I went with high hopes of grandeur.

I was such a newbie and in hindsight really didn't know anything of what I thought I did.  So I ran the website for a few months in hopes of promoting my affiliate links to help draw in the money I was looking for.  It costs money to run a website.  You have to pay the expected fees depending on who you choose to host your site.  Needless to say I done just about everything and actually learned quite a bit through that process but was never actually able to get the site up and running like I had expected for it to.  Of course I wanted everything right then and there and grew very impatient when the site wasn't pulling in money by it's sixth month of being online. 

What a Mistake!

I let that site go because it wasn't making me money as quickly as I thought it should.  Was that ever a mistake!  Do you know I done a search on that sight a few months ago to try and regain my old domain address?  Guess what?  That site is currently bringing in thousands of visitors!  Someone bought the domain name and uses it to advertise a Dental Office of all things!  I guess you could say that was my learning curve in Network Marketing.  This is a business of patience, not inpatience. 

Again I created another site after this brilliant idea of mine thought that I could run a website and auction site for our local town.  Again it cost me money every month to keep the site up and running.  You also have to realize that I live in such a small town that we only have one red light.  So can you imagine how hard it was to try and scrounge up news for the town site?  I even went to the town council to see if they could share in some of the expenses of the site since I was voluntarily providing my time and money to what I thought was something valuable to our community.  They wanted no part of that.  Their loss but my gain!  I would have still been stuck with that site and running it if they hadn't of turned down my offer.  Instead I moved on to what I am doing now, which is being a successful internet marketer.  And the auction site?  I never could get anyone to advertise on the site.  Even giving away free listings, I couldn't give it away!

So What Do We Do Now?

I had my son, Dylan, in 2001.  After the websites failed and didn't seem to work very well for me I decided that I wanted to open a restaurant.  After all I could cook like nobody's business!  With only one restaurant in town I figured I could give something to the people of our town by providing them good food.  Not just good food, but great food!  What I didn't realize at the time was how exhaustingly expensive and time consuming the restaurant business would be.  Needless to say I suffered another failure.  Getting up at 4:30am and working until 1am was just NOT my cup of tea.  I didn't care how good of a cook I was, I decided that if they wanted to eat my cooking from this point forward, they could come to my home and have dinner with us!  So we blew around $50,000.00 in 2007 which led to me having to file bankruptcy.

My WHY Became Prominent

When I married, my husband was already running his own excavation business.  After losing the restaurant I began to get more involved with helping him in his business.  Which mostly involved taxes, paperwork, and bookwork.  After the economy started falling in 2008 we began to slowly start losing our business.  Our business was structured to where the majority of our clients came from the housing industry.  So you guessed it, after 14 years we ended up having to shut the doors on the Excavation business also. 

Our Health Begins to Take a Toll

So with nothing seeming to be working for us and everything seemingly against us, we became overly stressed and our health began to take a toll.  It was at this time that I remembered the Supplements I used to take way back in 1996.  You know that MLM company I never could get distributors for?  However the product was out of this world and actually worked.  So I went on the internet and found there corporate website where I then requested for a distributor to contact me asap.  I needed to be a distributor so I could get the discount on my supplements.  I was already sold on the idea of MLM.  However I wasn't planning on selling because my social group was limited.  You see I have always been a recluse and I just love holing up in my recliner with my laptop. 

A New Beginning

So here I am with my health back in check thanks to my fantastic supplements.  However I'm still not making money.  I am now substitute teaching just to bring in extra money to help make our bills.  Then an awesome thing happened to me one day.  Someone sent me one of those famous emails that you usually just chunk in the trash and delete.  However this one caught my eye that day and I opened it.  This was the beginning of change.  The realization that although I had been a recluse I could still be an Internet Marketer.  This marketing system showed me that I could market online without having to approach family or friends.  Cause let me tell you, I have NEVER been the salesperson.  I'm just to honest ha ha.  I watched that video that day and my life is slowly changing for the better.  I am gaining new distributors weekly and have over $100,000.00 in my downline.  I have never been able to work any other system, but this one is working for me.  I actually get a commission this week! 

I'm Still Learning

Out of everything that I have been involved with, from NuSkin to Success University, I am thankfull for each and every experience.  I have learned something from each and every one of them.  I have also come to the realization that success comes from within first.  Mike Dillard has a wonderfull way of explaining that if you have never had the opportunity to listen to him yet.  I now strive to learn everything that I can about our online world and Network Marketing.  I also give away freely everything that I learn and help others who need it.  The last thing I want to see is for someone to go through the painfull and tedious process that I went through.  Oh and that amazing company that is changing my life around and finally having me look forward to purchasing that Lincoln Navigator I have been drooling over for so long?  Mandura!
