Bonnie Sprung

Diverse in her many points of interest Bonnie Sprung brings all her talents into whatever she is creating. The sculpture of her physique, muscles captured on film, theatrical stages transformed,the many workings of graphics, illustration, oils, public art and computer takes Bonnie in all types of directions.
Born in New York with a paintbrush in her hand in the year of 1958. She has always been an artist. After high school in Altamonte Springs, FL she freelanced as a graphics artist; as she attended Valencia Community College 1976-1978. She earned her Associate of Arts degree in fine arts; specializing in oil painting, printing, lettering, and visualization. Valencia is where she got her first taste of theatrical production. Coining the name Valencia Character Company, she created the sets and makeup for a number of productions.
Bonnie moved back to New York in 1978 to acquire her Bachelor of Arts degree at Hofstra University in 1980 with a major in theatrical production and minor in graphics design. She specialized in makeup and set design. Trained in perspective drawing, two to three dimensional design, drafting, layout, and photography.
Photography became another passion. Mastering the art of theatrical photography, actors head shots and capturing bodybuilders on film. She has worked on several magazines as a photographer and writer.
Florida landscapes of watery jungles are constant images captured on film in B&W then brought to life in two to three oil color combinations on acrylic stained canvas; intertwined with muscular physiques ghosting through. Since Dec. '95 taking images of old and new ; illustrated and photo are brought to life once more in computer generated art.
In 2000, she got hooked on transforming naked fiberglass forms to works of art that are publicly displayed. You can still find a few lizards, swans, butterflies, clowns, gators and geckos in some city parks.
In 1984 she got into the art of sculpting her body with iron. She is an accomplished National Competitor. For lack of being bored she has four businesses. Since 1986 she has owned Uniquely Art and Photography Studio and Muscular Motion Gym.
A new passion emerged in 2004 and USA Studio and Associates was created; helping people save or make money with AmeriPlan® health benefits.

In 1995 Bonnie became a member of the Women's Caucus For Art, Florida Chapter (www.wcafl.org). In 2002 she became president till Jan. 2006 and is the newsletter editor. Bonnie has exhibited her work in several shows over the years with the caucus and solo. Her work can be seen at www.sprungart.com.
 
Personal Statement:
With each piece of work created there is the heart and soul of my life's energy flowing through. Some images tell the story of my inner being and then there are those that are pure wonderment and enjoyment. To see the wheels turning behind the eyes gazing upon my work gives me pure satisfaction of what they see as opposed to what I might know.
