You may have heard this statement, “If it is to be, it is up to me.” This statement rings with power and, at the same time, paints a picture of who you think you really are.

I found myself with the bitter realization of having to rely on myself since the age of 17. I was devastated by an event that would define the purpose of my vision today.

My father and sister were killed on the way home from my High School Homecoming football game; an accident I pulled up on and was blindsided with the task of identifying them. Only two short years following that event, I found myself being a father and a husband. I spent the next 19 years trying to find out who I really am and what I wanted. I started in Sales at 20 and spent 5 years selling insurance door to door. Ouch! I did so well, by the age of 23 I had my own Sales team. I jumped from the frying pan to the fire selling and managing in the automobile industry. Don’t judge me; I promise I was not one of those guys. I realized the long term offer in that business is starting over every month. I went to work for a Fortune 50 technology firm selling computer equipment over the phone. I had a lot of success and won all expense paid trips and a top producer. I spent the last 6 years training other sales people how to produce results. Still, I knew something was not fulfilling me. These were my discoveries.

1st I was not involved in something that allowed me to impact the success of others

2nd My freedom was based on the choices of managers and company guidelines

3rd My financial outcome did not appear to have the rewards that financially independent people embrace

4th I had no Mentor in my life

5th My real passion is teaching

I began to make changes, some very painful, but the right ones for me. I ended a 19 year marriage, and began my quest to create a life of prosperity, success and joy.

I came across an author by the name of Robert Kiyosaki who described the power of leverage and how this is the formula for the wealthy and financially independent. Now, all I needed was someone to Mentor me on how to create this leveraged model. I began my career in Network Marketing (Leverage) and knew with my sales background, I was going to kill this. I would be rich in 6 months! I made my list; prospected, put up signs, listened to tapes and whatever else they told me to do. Two years later, my riches had not come.

It was not until I discovered a real mentor and teacher, Mike Dillard, who shared the practical steps and ideas to achieve my goals. Mike said, “they call it Network –Marketing. You both are a leader and know how to market, or you acquire marketing skills and understand what a leader is so you can quickly become one.” I responded, “I feel like a leader, so let’s get to selling.” He then said, “Wait! Hold your horses there Mr. Salesman! I do not mean market or sell a business – you need to market yourself! You need to be seen as a leader by others.” This is the golden nugget missed by so many people in this industry. He also said, “You can do this slowly with the methods of yesterday, however, most success created today by the pros use the internet and a system.”

I am in the game today and loving it. I have a wonderful Wife, I am a much better father to my two sons and I have increased my life with three incredible step children.

My passion is to teach. After losing my Father, I went so long in my life without mentoring. I don’t wish that same pain on you. I seek people with passion, people with a desire to learn and a willingness to share without expecting anything in return; people who understand that money is a resource to better the lives of family, those in our community, Country and globe.

The 1st thing needed to change is awareness. The 2nd is guidance on how to create results. 3rd is action, action, action, with support.
