About Me

Hi Everyone,

Looks like I'm going to really enjoy the relationships formed in this community. To give you just a bit of background, I'm 70 yrs old and a retired Financial Planner from Kentucky. Prior to that, I was a cop in Los Angeles.

I first became interested in Internet Marketing in 2004. Today I believe this to be the greatest single opportunity available to people today. However, I'll be the first to admit, I'm not done yet. I still have a lot to learn. The only difference is, time is not on my side. You see, at my age in real life, I'm on the last lap around the track. I realize this is not a practice session. Consequently, I plan on accomplishing more in the next 24 months than most people might in the next 10 years. Come run with me.

But wait, there's some real positive notes to all this. After selling my practice in 2005 and moving on into Internet Marketing, I was pleased to see that, for the previous 25 years, I had been using attraction marketing on a day to day basis. During this time I wrote a ton of insurance but never sold an insurance policy. I placed millions of dollars into securities, but never sold a mutual fund or security product. I never went to a customers home to "sell them something". I never asked the "closing question".  People at the home offices of the different insurance and investment companies told me flat out that I would FAIL--MISERABLY with my approach. However, it being my business, I thanked them for their prophetic statements and showed them the door--out of my office.

And then, I continued to sincerely help as many people with as many money problems as they shared with me--never worrying about commissions, fees, and quotas. And ya know what? Lots of folks bought lots of policies, lots of investment programs, lots of folks bought "MIKE", and I made lots of money. And I never sold a thing.  How 'bout that!! So now I'm transferring these "people techniques" to internet marketing.

I'm looking forward to meeting lots of other, like-minded BN members who are going for the real gold, and not just the flash in the pan.

May your days be nothing short of ''FANTASTIC'' !!

Mike, I have found a new passion here on BN. I have Twitter, Direct Matches, Facebook and other social marketing sites but this is where things are happening. You will get an idea about what I have done. If you take a look at my profile, you can see in my pictures some of the sites I have been to these past few years. Walt Disney mimicked the blue castle (Burg Elles). It is one of four castles that never had to be constructed in Germany. My goal is to help others in ways I wish I had when I got started. Hi Mike, Welcome!! You are never too old to start new things. I didn't start until I was 73. If nothing else it keeps my mind active and I get great pleasure sharing life's experiences with others. Please educate yourself in the ways of the industry before committing your time or money. Follow the rules, don't get on the bad side of "Carl The Cop". Hi Mike Thanks for the connection and welcome to Better Networker. Glad to have you on board. Yeah we are many of us networkers looking to improve our lifestyles and also support others in their dreams and success. Us 'elders' just need to be more focussed....and we often have more daily time on hand. So look forward to growing with you. Mentoring for Free has been very helpful for me to get focussed and make progress in one direction. Until then I was online each day but going in circles. This is certainly not something to be done in isolation. Being in a support group is so much more fun and also more productive. All the best to you. Rachel Cormier Mission BC Canada

Tip taken. Thanks Paul.
Hello Mike: Thanks for accepting my friends request on Better Networker. I admire you that you want to accomplish more in 24 months than in the next ten years. Looking forward to chatting with you. Sincerely Lawrence Bergfeld

Thanks Lawrence. Yes, the reason is travel. I figure in ten years I'll probably only be able to make right hand turns. Safer!!
