Cheryl de Blois

I was born and raised in Edmonton, AB Canada and currently still here. I have a wonderful husband, a daughter and a son that are both under the age of 3.

When I decided to go to post-secondary school I hadn’t given it much thought. Both my parents had a Bachelor of Commerce degree with accounting majors so I thought that I’d just follow their footsteps and because of this, it should be easy. Boy, was I wrong. I didn’t like accounting at all. I did horrible but never quit and I eventually graduated. I still wanted to be in business so I went for a finance diploma after but I never pursued a career in the financial field. When I was going to school to finish my Bachelor or Management degree, I had a job… in the accounting field. After a few years later, I’m working with the Government of Alberta as an Administrative Assistant so I feel like I went backwards in my career path plus I was feeling unsatisfied with no gratification with what I’m currently doing. I’m still there only because it pays the bills and looking for other jobs just makes me cringe.

My latest venture has been joining a home-based business. I like the fact that I can schedule my own day, I don’t have to commute, and I get to spend more time with my family. So my goals for the future are to replace my income and quit my job so that I spend more time with my family, get rid of my debt, and one day achieve true freedom.
