Colleen Harrison

I graduated from the American University, Washington, D. C, with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration and have graduate courses in Management from the American Management Association as well as graduate courses in the Legislative Process at the American University.  I majored in accounting and have 29 years of accounting experience working for the federal government as an Operating Accountant (U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, HUD), Systems Accountant (Government National Mortgage Association, GNMA), Staff Accountant and Project Manager (Bureau of Public Debt - Investor Accounts) and as an Internal Revenue Service Field Revenue Agent (Internal Revenue Service - Examination).  I retired from the IRS with 17 years of experience auditing hundreds of individual and business tax returns as well as examining Offers-In-Compromise, Audit Reconsiderations, Innocent and Injured Spouse claims.  I additionally have extensive experience investigating abusive tax schemes.  During my first three years with IRS I worked in Taxpayer Service assisting taxpayers with their tax accounts, hardships, wage garnshments, levies and liens as well as assisted them in preparing their tax returns.  I know IRS procedures and protocol.  

I am an Enrolled Agent authorized by the U. S. government to represent taxpayers before the IRS on all administrative tax matters in all 50 states and U. S. territories.  Enrolled Agents are the only ones authorized by the U. S. government to represent taxpayers before the IRS, CPAs and attorneys are licensed by the state.  CPAs and attorneys may not specialize in taxation.  Enrolled Agents are specialists in taxation.  Enrolled Agents are tested by the IRS to receive their authorization and in order to maintain their designation must continue with yearly education in taxation.  I am a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents as well as the National Association of Tax Professionals.  I created Harrison Tax, Accounting and Financial Services, Inc. in 2008 and am its Chief Executive Officer.  I am listed with the Arizona Corporation Commission.

I am a Notary Public and Signing Agent.

I am an American citizen born abroad.  Both my parents were American citizens.  I am bi-lingual and speak both Spanish and English fluently.
