Charles Spath

I grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana, so I learned the meaning of hard work.  In addition to chores on the farm, by age 13, I was hiring out to neighbors to help put up hay in the summer.

As I moved on through school, I attended Catholic elementary school.  Then we had a new consolidated Jr-Sr high school open, and all 7th to 12th graders were sent there.  My high school was about 400 students, with my class a little over 100.

While in high school I was active in sports, playing varsity football for 4 years, playing basketball for 4 years (2 varsity), running track for 4 years and playing baseball 1 year.

I graduated from high school with a 3.53 GPA and finished 11th in my class.

From there, I went to DePauw University in Greencastle, IN to play football, earning a full academic scholarship, as DePauw is a Division 3 school, not able to give athletic scholarships.  Unfortunately, I suffered an injury my freshman year that cut short my playing career.

I graduated with a B.A. and earned a graduate teaching assistantship to the University of Arizona in Tucson,AZ.

I graduated from Uof A, and have lived in Tucson since.
