About Me
I started my first business at the age of 8, selling promotional rulers door to door that my dad had brought home and never gave out ("one man's trash is another man's gold"). I quickly rose in the ranks and got a paper route. After attending my first weekly "sales drive", I learned that I could make more money selling subscriptions than delivering papers. I bought a moped and hired the neighborhood kids to prepare my daily delivery and effectively reduced my paper route to 15 minutes a day. I negotiated a deal with my manager and in lieu of winning fabulous prizes, I got paid cash on production and I transitioned my time to signing up new customers. I had a banner year and I was 12 years old.
I was accepted to U.C. Berkeley and in my second year my father died. His sudden death shocked my brothers and my mom, especially since we found the life insurance application on his desk at the office. After my mother told me there wasn't enough money to go to school, I told her not to worry, I would be fine. I waited tables on the weekends, worked in the chemistry lab at lunch, washed dishes in my fraternity, managed the building I lived in, and selling a movie home delivery service, all while finishing school. It took me an extra semester to finish, but when I got my degree with an emphasis in International Economics, I had a small student loan to pay back of $2,000, phew!
In 1990 I got my SAG card (Screen Actors Guild) and over the next 5 years became a familiar face of over 30 products in the USA and some even worldwide: Visa, Toyota, Kellogg’s, Miller Light Beer and Wrangler Jeans to name a few. After starring on a television series and appearing on numerous shows, I got a real estate license in order negotiate my own real estate transactions. I became very knowledgeable about mortgages and began educating and helping my actor friends buy homes. When one of my client's asked if I would be their real estate agent on a deal (as they didn't like or trust the industry as a whole), I obliged and found a new love. I created a partnership and launched full time as a realtor. Over the next 7 years, we annually won awards for production and began to get invited to speak at other company offices. We invested in a business coach from the beginning and acknowledged that relationship as one of our "secrets" to success. Our coach hired us to begin mentoring other agents and a second business was launched.
I am now developing the sales force for a school dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping them live their lives while balancing the elements of Wealth, Wellness, Leadership and Legacy.
I wake up every day asking myself, "What will I learn today and how can I apply it to my life?"
I look forward to learning and growing with the community and am always looking to share ideas and "rise the tide" of the industry.
