In 5 years of Internet marketing, I've probably made just about every mistake, and invested heavily in the process. However, that's ok, because learning and continuing to take action is the only way to reach your goals. Massive action, equals massive results.
The most valuable lesson I have learned in Internet Marketing, and MLM in particular, is finding a product or niche that it's in high demand at a price that is unattainable anywhere else. Where most MLM companies fail is in marketing something that is highly discretionary and is not really anything that the masses want or need. Most MLM companies makes an initial rash of sales, the network blooms, but eventually the demand or popularity of the product wanes or, more likely, the product becomes available at local retail outlets at a price as cheap as or cheaper than you and your downline are able to purchase. The ideal product would be something that virtually everyone needed AND the price of that product or products would be such that no one would want to quit...attrition would be near zero. I have found that ideal product, or actually products that meet this criteria.
The second most valuable thing I've learned is that, if your not generating at least 20-30 leads per day, success will be difficult. If you are not converting 1-2% of these leads into customers, your probably going to lose money. That's just the facts. I have found the ideal method here also, however, I only divulge that to those in my downline :-)
