Don Egnor

I wanted to say thanks to everyone on Better Networker and say that I am proud to be a part of such a fabulous organization. My name is Don Egnor and I live in Tampa Florida with my wife Kathy and our 2 cats, Stretch and Isabelle. We originally hail from West Virginia but ended up leaving there about 12 years ago. I love Florida for the weather, beaches and sunshine but sometime I miss the mountains…I even miss the cold weather sometimes and never thought I would be a flatlander, but here we are. We lived in Atlanta GA for 3-4 years before we moved to Florida and so far we have no plans on leaving, at least if Kathy has her way about it…which she probably will.

After a four-year stint in the US Army stationed in Germany, I went back to West Virginia and thought I would get a good job, retire and live happily ever after. Well, I couldn’t find a good job so I packed up one day and told my family I was going to California for a couple of months. This was before I met Kathy so I had no ties and ended up staying for over 3 years just exploring, working enough to get by and having fun. I finally came to my senses though and had to leave because I realized I was getting nowhere fast…I was having too much fun and not really making the money to support the lifestyle I wanted.

I packed up again and moved back to West Virginia and went to work for a car dealership as a salesperson. I started out as the proverbial used car salesman and thought I had it made. I was making good money, having fun, had no cares and even had a new car to drive…that was when you could get a “demo” from the dealer and all I had to do was buy the gas for it…I was big time, or so I thought. I actually worked my way up from being a salesman to the finance manager, then to sales manager and eventually to running a satellite dealership at another location for this dealer.

I met my wife Kathy at this dealership and all of a sudden everything changed for me…in a great big way. Note: Kathy came onto the car lot one day with her daughter looking at cars for her daughter. I was smitten right off so I talked the salesman that was waiting on them to let me handle the deal. I was so determined that I even told Phil that I didn’t want the commission if I sold them a car! I actually ended up swiping two of the wheel covers off of her car to have an excuse to try and find more for Kathy, which gave me the reason I needed to call her…so my plan worked and came together very well!

Kathy and I have certain thing we want to do in our life just as I am certain that there are thing you want and places you want to see as well. I will go to great lengths to reach those goals and want to bring a lot of others along with us on our journeys. I want to help as many people as I can and feel fully satisfied with what I am doing and where our lives are going. The road will be tough sometimes but there is a way if people are willing to do what it takes, and put the time and effort into what we teach and do. Please let us know if we can help you in any way, as it would be our pleasure. I mean every word of this and will prove it to you if you will only take the time to explore it. Remember this though…it is your decision, not mine, as you are the only one that knows if you have what it takes.
