Personal - Who am I and what made me to who I am today. -
My name is Kurt Hemeleers and I live in a small town called Werchter (Belgium), I have an engineering degree and I did some engineering at the KU Leuven Div. MTM, I was a teacher for a while at KTA I in Diest, service engineer at Ecolab and some other things. More in my resume(CV).
The 8th of march 1997 was a exceptional day in my life. At the end off the day filled with wonders I was driving home with a friend and during our ride home an event changed several lifes, especially mine. An old man crossed the street because he didn't saw us coming. We were able to avoid the old man but I crashed my car into some trees. I was wounded heavily and broke my neck, my left knee, my left thigh-bone, left hand and wrist, a double open fracture at my left fore-arm, all my ribs at the left side, some internal wounds and a severe concussion of the brain. I had a Near Dead Experience in ER, went into coma for some time and 13 months on rehab. This event changed my life completely and it enlightened my being and opened my eyes and my mind. Perhaps I will tell you more about it some day ...

It all started by a dream of two brothers, the talent of Shane and somebody who could offer a startkapital or sponsordeal.
Mini-f1 is now grown into a fully non-profit organisation that is into coaching, training and mentoring of young childeren in the world of Karting. In our first year we have grown from a simple idea into an organisation with a Belgian Champion and we may organize the Belgian Championship Shumi's next year and still in search for people with the same vision, a translator in English to start our English version of the site and keeping it up-to-date, due to the fact our organistion is growing outside Belgium thanks to Ecademy we're in need of several local people too. We're also in need of marshals and pilots to train our young students and collaborators who can advice our services provided by our partners.
