Here's a little about me... I’m 44 and Dad to three amazing children. I'm a proud hockey dad and love being at the rink. I have coached (currently coaching my youngest) all my children in rep soccer. They are good athletes and all play many other sports. We are constantly on the road for a game, a tournament or some other activity. My life is crazy busy keeping up to my kids, dogs and everything involved but I love it. It's who I am and what I love to do. We’re also an outdoor family. We love camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. This year, my eldest son tried rock climbing for the first time and loved it. He  got me to try it and now I'm hooked! My personal interests are soccer, ice hockey, triathlon, any sports or outdoor pursuits. 

In addition to all this I’m absolutely passionate about running my home based business. It’s a juggling match trying to fit me, the kids and a business all into a 24 hour period but I wouldn’t have it any other way. 
 
The idea of working for myself and being able to create a life of freedom where I set the ground rules has always been highly appealing to me. But with so many choices where do I focus my energy? I’d tried a home business 20 years ago but found it to be big on promises and short on substance. I signed up; really didn’t have a clue what I should be doing only to find my sponsor was as clueless as me and the recommended way to market my business was to approach family and friends, co-workers etc and sell them on the virtues of your business opportunity. I don’t know about you, but the thought of doing that scared me to death - still does. Needless to say, I quickly went out of business. 
 
Fast forward almost 20 years and THANK GOD that all changed when I found the business of my dreams. But before I get into that, let me tell you a little about myself... 
 
I’m a college grad who spent most of my adult life after that ill fated first attempt as an entrepreneur working for just one company. I started at an entry level position and worked my way up to middle management with a staff of 30 + people under my direct supervision. At this point I had the world by the tail. I’d had a comfortable job I was good at, I had the respect of my employees (most of them anyway) and I was heading for a long career followed by a reasonably comfortable retirement. That all changed one day when my two bosses walked into my office out of the blue and told me the company was downsizing and middle management were being eliminated. To say the least my world took a decided turn for the worse. Overnight, I found myself unemployed and my cozy little future up in smoke.
 
I got my resume together started networking and applying for jobs I thought I’d be a good fit for. If this has ever happened to you, I’m sure you can relate. It’s a soul searching process and not a lot of laughs.
 
On three separate occasions I went through the interview process for a job and came in second each time. At this point something inside me snapped (in a good way) and I came to the conclusion I just couldn’t do this anymore. 
 
One of the things I love about my life is being able to spend quality time with my children. It’s the biggest reason I started this home based business. 
 
My dad was an entrepreneur and as I mentioned, the idea of working for myself and setting my own rules had always appealed to me. But like most folks I was in a job comfort zone and had no motivation to start my own business. Now that had all changed and I knew this was what I wanted to do. I didn’t know what form it would take but I knew I was destined to run my own business.
 
I started researching and quickly came to the conclusion that an online home based business was the business model that suited me, but where to go from here? I went to Google and came up with literally hundreds of different business opportunities.
 
My biggest frustration was finding a legitimate company amongst the obvious money games and low class “get rich quick” mlm’s. Most companies came off as unprofessional and cheesy while few would tell you what the business actually was.
 
I knew lots of people were making fortunes online so there had to be legitimate business opportunities out there somewhere. All I wanted was a company that would give me complete disclosure with full details without playing games and hiding behind a website and false promises. These sorts of companies are out there, but you have to do your research to find them. 
 
Once I found that company, the next biggest frustration was learning the marketing skills necessary to attract the right people to my business opportunity because it doesn’t matter if you have the best product or service on earth, if nobody sees it, you’re not going to make a profit. I tried all sorts of methods to attract people to my biz op. None of them were particularly successful and all I ended up doing was draining my bank account.
After struggling for a long time with limited success, I travelled to a live event where I learned what this business can be like when you have unlimited support. The marketing skills I learned turned the corner on my online biz in a huge way. The best part is, the methods are free and  incredibly effective.
  
Let’s face it, the world of internet marketing is crowded and competitive. Many people start home based businesses but very few truly live up to their potential because they don’t know the best places to focus your energy. The good news is there is plenty of money to be made for everyone but only if you know what to do and how to do it. Being part of a team that truly cares about you and is willing to take an active part in helping you reach your goals gives you a huge advantage.
 

I’ve created a dream lifestyle because I found a business I’m passionate about that fits me and my family perfectly. Only you can say if an opportunity like this is the right fit for you. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone with the balls to leave the 9-5 rat race behind to take a long hard look at starting your own home based business.
