Francis O’Gorman is a Remedial Massage Practitioner, Sports Coach and Personal Trainer, specializing in body fluid movement.

I guess life's a bit like a hot air ballon ride - inflate it and take off for a great ride - when we no longer continue to inflate lifes' function adequately and it deflates - the ride's all over.

Supporting and stimulating good circulatory flow up into the head and throughout the body is ultra important for relief of head disorders, including sinusitis, memory loss and mood swings, even spinal fluid itself needs a helping hand to circulate!

For better circulation Francis uses products he has found to give better results, namely: AIRNERGY, BIOCOMFORT / FESTO and HERBALIFE.
While there are other products around that are bigger, stronger and more potent - they don't have the right action, or are too cumbersome to mobilize deeper organs and joints or they create a healing crises for some patients.

Francis is qualified as:

  • Remedial Massage Practitioner
  • Personal Fitness Trainer & Sports Coach Level 2, with the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme of Australia.
  • Ships engineer in the Australian deepwater trawl industry

Main sports were rowing, surfboat rowing, rugby and basketball.
As a member of the Whakatane Rowing Club' Mens 8 oared crew his crew was never beaten at any regatta in their boat the Mataatua. The great Maori voyaging canoe Mataatua first landed at the Whakatane River in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand approximately 700 years ago captained by Toroa. We were very honoured to have the name Mataatua bestowed upon our racing boat by the tribal elders of Whakatane. We are a very culturally orientated people.

The crew I was in won the N.Z. Open Champion Eights in '70, '71 and '73 - even in this year of 2008 the winning champion 8 was slower than our times of around 5:34 from just about 40 years ago. Our Whakatane Eight was a top crew to be in. It was definitely a priviliged experience.

I was a member of the N.Z colts eight that won the Australian mens eights in 1970, but then declined further invitations to row for N.Z. because I was young, undiplomatic and attitudinal. I was in Sydney building steel cruising boats with my good friend and fellow crew member, Dave Molesworth in '72 when N.Z. won the gold medal in the eight oared event at the Munich Olympics.

After retiring from rowing, I built and sailed my 46' cruising boat from Whakatane, New Zealand around Norfolk Island and to Australia, cruising around the Australasian coasts, fishing and barbecueing the days catch on the beach. My cruising lifestyle continued from the late ’70s ’till the mid nineties when I started getting serious about healthcare and self-preservation.

Nowadays Francis is married to a lovely Thai lady named Kasinee, enjoys his exercise program, a run along the beach, top coffee and Zinfandel - a smooth, (medicinal of course) red wine.

My first business venture? I used to sell souvenirs outside Lancaster Park, Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand, whenever there was a rugby rep game on - either a Canterbury game [Canterbury was   my home   province], or an All Black game.

Apart from formal Remedial training Francis gained a lot of his ‘intuitive’ healing aspects the painful way - after retiring from rowing, his front chest or pectoral muscles had shortened up through spasm, creating intense pain in between the shoulder blades. The tensile strength in his back muscles weakened   as he was no longer strength training.

Frank’s vertebra then collapsed haphazardly and as a result he experienced around 10 years of debilitating spinal misalignment - for which he could not find a satisfactory chiropractor or therapy. It’s OK today.
At the time he didn’t realize that muscles pull bones out of alignment. He just ass-umed that bones needed a bone doctor, not a muscle doctor.
He resorted to a succesful self-treatment program for spinal pain relief that anyone can use:

  • Gently mobilize each spinal vertebrae up and down the edge of a table or bench, or whatever is handy.

He   has also suffered:

  • Dislocation of both shoulders playing rugby
  • A   compound femur fracture while tree felling, which caused the most excruciating, long winded pain to the knee
  • Torn ligaments in his left knee in a deep water crabbing accident.
  • Sciatica from waste product accumulation
  • Rib and jaw fractures from football and motorbike injuries
  • A bout of polio struck when Frank was sitting in his primary school class about 11 0'clock one morning. He just couldn’t walk, so his mate Terry O’Loughlin doubled him home on his bicycle.

Testimonials

Don Bowry: I have benefited with significant improvement to circulation and neuromuscular problems since receiving ozone therapy from Francis O’Gorman. There has also been some clarification of mental processes. I have suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities for some 23 years, also Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Bridget Bourke: Currently I am seeing Frank for help with bending my knee and hip after a full femur replacement.

Within one week my energy levels have soared. I am sleping better and waking easier. I have more energy for both usual daily duties and exercise.

Every time a wrap is performed, my moods change for the better. After three weeks I am feeling better than I have for years, with increased moods overall and an increase in general well-being.

Pain has decreased and therefore have managed to cut down pain killers from prescription (Tramal) + Panadol + Neurofen to just Panadol twice daily.

Scar tissue has begun to break down and hardness has been noticeably lessened. Some feeling which has been numb since the operation where the scar tissue is has returned. The colour of the scar has lightened and the feeling of the scar is smoother. One part of my leg where old scar tissue was removed during the operation has smoothed over, softened and ceased looking like a giant lump and now makes my leg look much more normal..

Most importantly stiffness in both joints has decreased and I now am able to bend both joints further and more easily (with what I was able to bend to before I saw Frank). In just three weeks, I believe y knee bend has increased 10°-15.°

Helen Newman, Nurse Unit Manager, Swinburne University Hospital: During the past two years Francis has been working with both medical and surgical patients. The surgical patients have progressed from the ward to the operating suite in a much calmer state following massage pre operatively.

Post operatively there has been significant progress in the patients’ recovery where massage has been employed to calm and heal the patient. Francis has a great deal of compassion for the patients plight and will always listen to their needs and requests, respecting their privacy and individualism.

Francis has worked closely with patients suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis and terminal illness, to cite a few.
It has been a pleasure to know Francis over this time.

Peter O’Gorman: I am a 51 yr old Australian Regular Army Officer with many years of rigorous physical activity in my military capacity and on the sporting field. I played both Australian Rules and Rugby Union for Defence and in a recreational capacity. I played both sports at a fairly high level. At times I was playing up to five games a week during Defence Carnivals and had three seasons playing both codes each weekend when posted to central N.S.W. I was selected for the Defence National side for Australian Rules on several occasions and toured South East Asia with a Central N.S.W. Rugby Union side in the mid eighties.

Both my military and sporting activities have taken their toll on my physical well being and I have suffered many broken bones and severe ligament damage in several joints. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and shoulders and suffer from upper and lower back problems. I am 196 cm tall and have some posture problems as a result of my injuries and height. At the time of treatment I was also suffering from tendonitis in my left elbow.

Just two sessions with Francis using a combination of massage, ozone and mediwrap treatments, gave me relief from arthritic pain for over two months.

Information on pain management given by Francis during treatment has ensured that previous levels of pain have not returned.

Using his massage machine he was able to release the tension in certain chest muscles allowing the relief of my back problems. This has had a positive effect on my posture allowing me to straighten my shoulders and adopt a correct stance. He managed to relieve the effects of the tendonitis using massage techniques. It is merely the fact that I live interstate, which prevents me attending his clinic on a regular basis. There are several other patients of Francis who I know personally, who also speak highly of his healing skills. I would recommend treatment by Francis to any person with pain management problems.

Joyce E. Risstrom: When I went to Francis in October my physical condition was at an all time low. A persistent explosive cough and a constant lack of energy made ordinary tasks difficult and draining. Alternating sessions of massage with cupping and Mediwraps bought significant improvement with each treatment, by Christmas the troublesome cough had gone and energy levels encouraged a more optimistic view of future possibilities.

The difference in my condition was all the more notable because I had been taking conventional medication for asthma for a few years, this treatment entailed steroids in spray and tablet form, in fact the increasing frequency of steroid tablet regimes was causing me such concern that I contacted the Asthma Foundation, their guidelines of 3-4 months within a year alerted me that I could be reaching a level that could compromise my immune system. At age 67 this was not a prospect I could ignore.

I consider myself fortunate that a concerned friend suggested an alternative treatment and reccommended Francis. While the massage and wraps were of major importance, Francis’ own special supportive and encouraging style together with the calming background music added an extra dimension to the experience.

Gavin Jenner: Leading up to the Australian Masters Rowing Regatta I was suffering from muscle spasms that effected my whole torso. Francis suggested I try the Bodywrap as well as massage. I received two Bodywrap sessions just prior to setting off for the regatta.
The benefit of the treatment allowed me to compete over three days without the spasm problems I was experiencing before hand. The expertise off Francis contributed to two gold and one silver medal. Thank you Francis.

Prof. Carl Wood, MBBS. FRCS. FRANZCOB. AL CBE: Francis has worked as a masseur for many years. He has worked on a wide variety of patients, with a wide variety of techniques both pre and post op.
I can strongly recommend his work and personality.

Howard Croker, Australian oar manufacturer, winner of 24 medals of the 26 events at the 2007 World Rowing Championships:
I have known Frank O’Gorman since the 1970’s, during his rowing career Frank was a member of the Whakatane Rowing Club in New Zealand. At the time they were the best club in New Zealand with a handful of athletes. Frank was one of the strongest and most technically correct oarsmen of his day. He also had the added experience of being under Rusty Robertson’s coaching. Frank’s heart was totally dedicated to rowing and all that comes with it. Send this page to a friend
