About Me
Welcome, and thanks for visiting me here at my Better Networker site. I'm happy to share some of my history with you.
Let's start with my childhood. I grew up in Canton, Ohio (50's and 60's), a medium sized city in the northeastern part of the state. I came from a blue collar family which included a younger sister and brother. That part of the country was still scattered with farms but was also very heavily industrialized, steel, rubber (tires) and plastics, as well as myriad other manufacturing businesses. My childhood was pretty typical for that time and region. Kids were able to play outside unsupervised, we (for the most part) were respectful to our teachers and our elders and we went to school and participated in sports or other extra curriculars. In the late 70's (I had moved away by then) it became known as the rust belt as many of the steel plants, along with many other businesses, went out of business or moved their operations overseas.
After high school (1968) I joined the Navy, enjoyed a year in Vietnam and then spent the remainder of my four year enlistment in the submarine service. I was very fortunate to have visited several foreign countries, both from Pacific tours and Atlantic tours. Those experiences helped me to develop an appreciation for different cultures around the world and I have been an avid traveler since those days. (See my album for recent photos)
After the Navy, I worked in a family construction business and went on to develop and manage a multi million dollar operation in central Ohio. About 1978, my wife and I decided that I should take advantage of the GI bill so we took our two young children, moved to Columbus,Ohio, and I finished degrees in Real Estate and Urban Land Analysis. We then decided to move to Arizona where I began learning the commercial real estate brokerage business. After two years, we opened our own brokerage and development company and I have been actively involved in those businesses to date.
In the late 80's I was introduced to a Network Marketing opportunity and it really caught my attention. In less than a year I was able to, on a part time basis, establish an organization of approximately 5,000 associaties and I was earning five figures a month. Unfortunately that company had some regulatory compliance issues and it faltered. The postive result of that experience was my exposure to the MLM arena.
I have since developed sales organizations in several other companies, three of which I still receive and ongoing residual income. I also co-founded, and was CEO of, a company that sold pre-paid travel packages, and marketed utilizing a multi-level compensation plan. I sold that company in 1999.
While still maintaing my real estate activity, I have followed the market and have kept abreast of current activity. Recently, a past associate of mine developed an online computer assistance program which offers an online service that is invaluable to the millions of people worldwide who use or depend on their computer. When I saw his service I asked myself "why hasn't anyone done this before..this is something that almost everyone needs and most certainly will reduce stress and increase productivity". The fantastic aspect to his company is that it is being introduced through relationship marketing. This company Automatic Geek, headquartered in the U.S., is also being offered in Australia, Canada, UK (England, Scotland, Ireland), with two more countries opening this year.
This brings me current, regarding my bio. I am looking forward to locating and working with seasoned builders in these countries. I'm also looking forward to traveling regularly to many of these countries as this opportunity explodes. This service is certainly a must for current day business builders who utilize their computers for developing their businesses. Automatic Geek is ideal as technical partner for associates and also can be a fantastic primary or secondary program for anyone in our industry.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for discussion about any of my past experiences. I've certainly seen many sides of several types of businesses and, believe me, I've benefited tremendously from people who have been willing to help me, over the years. If I can be of help to anyone who might have general business questions or specific questions about my experiences in network marketing, I'm happy to help. Even if you need a little motivation or a pick me up, let me know and I'll do my best to give straight forward advice.
